Does not outstay its welcome.
"Richard & Alice" is a grim story that does not outstay its welcome. The game masterfully sets the expectations of things getting even worse, and, while being emotionally heavy, motivates the player to push onward. The game loop is typical for point and click adventures, and the puzzles are simple.

A lot of Story, no typical Point+Click
As a fan of adventure-classics (DOTT, Simon, Sam&Max, MonkeyIsland) I was a bit disappointed - I should be more focused on the description before buying further games > The story is sad and the game was not what I expected. * not many puzzles * much more dialogues - was interesting at first, but at the second half made me skip through * Some twists were predictable. * If you like that kind of story (sad, horror-elements, apocalypse) and gameplay, you will get a great game with a few different endings. * One playthrough is enough for me. (I'm a great fan of Disco Elysium, so maybe I'm biased - with storytelling and development of characters.)

SOO MOVING!
This was a very terrific story line, the message i feel is well known but this story really drives it in hard, very true very terrific, so great i created an account on this site just to give it a 5 star, i loved it wholeheartedly terrific, just terrific as hell

Adventure done wrong
There is little to like in Richard & Alice. I felt like playing another adventure "game," and this one ended up representing everything I hate about the genre.The graphics and animation are terrible, the characters are expressionless (literally; you only get the one image of them. In a genre where everything relies on your connection with the characters, this is inexcusable), the "puzzles" are meaningless game length padding, and the story was uninteresting. There's also a glitch. My character was frozen at one point and I had to load an autosave. I'm torn on the adventure genre. I like my games to be games, but there are incredible adventure "games" out there (Phoenix Wright, To The Moon). This game is not worth paying for at all, and therefore I can't give it more than one star.

What is this? I don't even...
I guess I've seen enought better RPGs with RPG Maker than this and for free? I don't know. But the graphics are a bit nasty if you ask me. And 6 bucks is a bit much. Oh, well...
