Return to Monkey Island

Amazing game. I am so happy that this was created. It made me feel both happy and sad with nostalgia. Unlike most other modern games, this one does not require microtransactions and addiction game mechanics to keep my attention. No, I played this game constantly for the past three days because it's just that good. Maybe a little too easy, even on hard. And the tense music for the last puzzle was a terrible design choice, no matter what its intention was. But these are the only nitpicks that I have. This thing is a must-buy!

I am not sure how I feel about the ending but I had a lot of fun playing this game I found parts to be quite funny. Guybrush as always bumbles into things and somehow manages to escape mostly because Lechuck never does what he should do and just have him killed like a typical villain in a Bond film that always taunts the hero and never follows through on his threats until it is too late. Enough rambling I enjoyed the adventure and thought it was well worth the purchase.

I love this game, maybe it is a little bit easier than other Ron Gilbert adventures but I spent some hours with my kids trying to solve puzzles, laughing out loud at every joke, and amazed at the illustrated style of this game. Also, it is more intuitive for kids. If you have kids and you want to spend a great time with them, make them read all the dialogue, deciding which way would be the best to solve a puzzle, this game is for you. The illustration style is the best, as well as the music, the smooth animations, and the voice-over artists. Thank you, Mr. Gilbert, I'm looking forward to playing the next new game.

It reminds me a lot of the original and I like that they seem to have gone out of their way to keep voices consistent. It was a fun jaunt back to when games were more about solving puzzles and just having fun. It's not perfect, and I still think Curse is still the greatest Monkey Island, but it didn't disappoint me and I'm glad it happened if even to keep the dream of Monkey Island alive.
