Resonance is a joint effort between Wadjet Eye and xii games. It's been five years in the making, and it's without-a-doubt their longest and most ambitious game to date. This gem is made by gamers for gamers, and you can clearly see that in almost every element of the game. From the polished and intuitive interface, through well balanced puzzles, all the way to the fun and gripping story, you can tell that xii games knows how to get the job done right. So if you are an old-school adventure game fan then this game should scratch all the old-skool gaming itches you’ve been feeling while delighting you with its innovations and story.

An amazing retro style game that actually feels fresh, with 4 simultaneously playable characters, puzzles with multiple solutions a great plot with really surprising twists and 2.5 extremely satisfying endings. The short-memory, long-memory inventory system is ground-breaking and makes the dialogue system feel more genuinely interactive. Definitely one of the best adventure games of 2012. My only nitpick: it's about 10 hours long, which, being so good, feels too short.
This really took me by surprise. If you enjoy Point&Click, give it a try.
It got the graphics, the sound, clever puzzles, and it's Long-Term-/Short-Term-Memory is a very cool idea.
This game is awesome. It takes everything from Dave Gilberts other adventure game, including the stuff that is less awesome.
The puzzles this time are harder than the ones in the Blackwell games, but still not that hard. If I was a more seasoned adventure gamer, the score would definitely have been downgraded to four stars, but if you're a novice, the difficulty is perfect. An addition to the gameplay are the small minigames that are decently challenging and does add something to the game.
The story and characters are great and unpredictable. The story is good and avoids tropes and cliches. It's Dave Gilbert, that's all that really needs to be said. This guy is a genius. The voice acting is good, the narrator from Bastion is even in it. One thing that really saddened me was the lack of voice acting when you inspected things. While this could be understandable, since there are four characters, I really hope that they use voice acting for this in future games. It was jarring.
The graphics are not the game's strongpoint but it does the job. The artstyle however is good. The graphics don't really matter anyway. They're nice to look at, that's all that matters.
In Wadjet Eye's previous games, length, or shortness rather, has been a problem. While this game isn't that long, it's still longer than their previous games. I think this might be the softspot.
In conclusion, this game is fantastic, and I seriously hope that we'll get a new Blackwell game soon, and that it has learned the lessons of this game, being longer than the previous games and having harder puzzles.
I must admit this game has a very immersive story line and very interesting twists and turns. By giving you the control of 4 different characters it manages to provide lots of backstory through gameplay and also successfully hide its twists. The puzzles are of average difficulty, with a few harder ones. The interface is typical PnC with the addition of "memory" where you can combine elements either for questioning or operating. This can cause confusion sometimes and make the gamer get stuck as it is not something that is familiar from other games and takes getting used to.
The pixel art is very nice, for those ok with low-res they will soon forget they're not watching HD graphices and the voice acting is fine. All in all, it's a few evening well spent with a gripping tech thriller. This along with Gemini Rue are great examples of how limited means but well-crafted story telling can go a long way in creating a very enjoyable game.
