Broken on gog
The gog version has a high chance to freeze between every scene in the menu, taking up to a minute each. dotemu has patched the launcher for steam but has not pushed the patched launcher to gog. Do not give them money until they decide that gog users arent second rate citizens.

Awful port
I like the games. I liked the Raiden saga before (I played them at the arcades) and the Raiden Fighter games are tight and furious. But what kind of port this is? How come you need a mouse to browse through the menus? How come all the menus show a lag of 5 seconds or more when going to any different option, either game or "options" or "exit"? I respect dotemu a lot and I thank them for bringing back many weird things and all the Silmarils games, but this is the worst port of Raiden I have played in the many, many different ports I have tried. Stay away, not even on sale. I would say that this should not even be sold, at all.

Finally some decent shmups on gog!
There is a huge gulf in quality between shmups like Raiden, designed and playtested for the arcade, whose commercial success is measured by repeat customers, and PC-exclusive shmups like Raptor. These are ports of 4 classic arcade shmups, albeit with the difficulty toned down a bit (5 lives, no option to change) and a strange autofire that shoots fastest when you AREN'T holding down the fire button(?) Changes aside, these are excellent shmups that will devour hours and hours of your time if you devote yourself to high scores and the elusive 1-credit-clear. Be warned, credit-feeding your way to the end credits in an arcade game is like playing through an FPS using the God cheat. You'll only rob yourself of the real experience

great game, poor emulation, hitches
as said in most review. hoping for a patch. i really like the game, i bought this to prevent me the need to find the mame rom again, but it's a waste. Plus, since the game is hard, it's usefull to have mame "save state" & "load state" function. Nothing here

Below Average Raiden Collection
I can't stress enough that I do not recommend Raiden Legacy at all. Besides taking a minute to load anything you click on in the menu like options the music sounds awful. For reference: I'm used to playing Raiden 1 & 2 on my PSX. I know that's not something everyone can do. But the music is perfect, the gameplay is on point. So if you're nostalgic for the arcade days you're in for a disappointment with raiden in this. Also Raiden 2 is missing. I'm not sure why. Also the input is a bit delayed, but that might be my keyboard. It feels off. The one thing I cannot get around is the fact that clicking on anything causes the whole menu to freeze - not the games though, just the menu. I have yet to exit the game in a natural way, since it just crashed whenever I wanted to leave a game and return to the HUB menu.
