Medievil in

In Pumpkin Jack you play as a rather likeable and stylish pumkin-headed dude. It is obviously inspired by Medievil, but surpasses it on many many levels. For those who don't know Medievil: I'm sorry. But not to worry, here you get you fix on running, jumping, hitting enemies and collecting various things all mixed up in a nice and interesting story. You want to relax after work, not think too much, don't talk to anyone because you have to talk during work the whole time? Sit back, relax, get a controller (seriously, you want a controller for that) and play for a level or five. Pumpkin Jack is the type of game where you will be happy just because you will be glad that obviously games like this are obviously still made. Please make another one, it doesn't need to be a sequel, maybe new characters + setting, this formula is just so innocently enjoyable! Tl;dr: good jump&run, want more!

Great Spooky Halloween Game

A easyt-to-moderately difficult platform game with some button-mashing combat and minigames. It has lots of eye-candy spookiness, especially with raytracing enabled. I particularly enjoyed the Cemetery and Christmas Village levels. I wish the weapons felt a bit better to use. The gun has a predictable dash attack, and I wish every weapon was given a guaranteed dash attack. Other than that, it was the perfect October game!

A hidden gem

I loved the art direction in this game, starting from the atmosphere, the soundtrack, the narrative. The simple, low-poly graphics suits the game pretty well. and the levels are pretty well thought, if you don't mind a linear stile of exploration. The first and fifth level in particular brought out a lot of MediEvil memories. Unfortunately the combat system is pretty rough for today standards, lacking quite a bit of feedback and feeling choppy. But it wasn't a dealbreaker for me. Highly recommended, especially during Halloween

Fantastic visuals & Great spooky vibes

I honestly cannot express how much I adore the visual design of this game. The stylized, cartoony environments with their colorful lights & quirky characters are delightful and the overall atmosphere is sure to get you into the right mood for the best season of the year. The platforming, combat and general gameplay can be summed up in one phrase: Simple but fun! The focus is clearly on having a good time rather than challenging your gaming skills to the maximum. Considering that this is the work of a lone developer, the production value is incredibly high. You can tell how much effort has been put into this. Everything oozes with charm and attention to detail. I often caught myself stopping just to marvel at the spooky scenery and all the wonderfully crafted little bits & pieces that you find everywhere. + Each level features a new weapon, vehicle, minigame and big boss fight at the end to keep things fresh & entertaining + Finding collectibles to unlock new costumes is actually a fun task because they're not too deviously hidden and also come with a helpful audio cue + The soundtrack is a great mix of atmospheric tunes and absolute bangers that get you all hyped up for the intense action sequences - Minigames are a bit hit-or-miss; Minigolfing with bombs was fun but matching gravestones in an empty graveyard for 5 minutes was not - Some parts are almost too easy because you take so little damage that you can barrel through most obstacles and still make it Pumpkin Jack takes everything that I love about videogames and wraps it into a neat little package that's just the right size for one or two evenings of spooky fun. Sure, you could nitpick a little here and there that not all of the vehicle sections feel equally fleshed out and some weapons are a bit clunkier than others, but none of that puts a damper on the fun that this game provides. I had a genuinely good time playing and couldn't stop myself from smiling all the way through this whimsical adventure.

AMAZING work for a solo developer

one of the best love letters to early 2000's colorful platform but with a halloween twist, and considering is ofrom a solo developer makes me love it even more. The only downside is that it's a bit short, but it makes for a great halloween game to pley for a day 5/5!
