Jeśli myślisz, że pobierzesz tą grę, zainstalujesz i zaczniesz grać bez problemów to grubo się mylisz. Zaserwowana wersja to wersja DOS ze źle ustawionym dosboxem. Dwie podstawowe mechaniki gry są zepsute. 1. Filmy są w strasznej jakości - skalowanie jest tragiczne. Przeplot jest jakiś czarny z pasami. Filmy w tej grze to bardzo ważna część fabuły i bez nich gra traci sens. 2. Wydajność - w bazach mam wrażenie, że wszystko jest za szybko ale jak tylko wylecimy i odwrócimy się w stronę planety albo statku to FPS spada poniżej kilku klatek na sek. Można się bawić ustawieniami DOSBoxa ale pytam się czemu?? Czemu ja mam to robić? Skoro GOG tak zapewnia w swoich filmach promocyjnych, że każdą grę przechodzą kilka razy i testują aby ustwienia był idealne. Pytam się w takim razie kto to testował i ustawiał...i dlaczego ta gra została w takim stanie dopuszczona do sprzedaży. Mogliście chociaż pokusić się o zainstalowanie patchy do windowsa (bo takie istnieją)

GOG did a good job here, really captures the old school gaming without many hassles. CD switching (virtual) is instant and automatic and the game requires pretty little tinkering to work, runs nice and stable. IMHO they should set initial cycles at 20k with up down being the same, or even 10k; 35k is so incredibly high that it’s hard to aim unless you get close or are facing a planet (game will slow down there, that isn’t changeable so no fault of GOG on that) and no computer of that era would run the game so fast. Not hard to fix with a bit of reading about DOSBOX though. Otherwise terrific job.

Thank you GoG for bringing back Privateer 2: The Darkening, and enabling that game is fully playable on latest gen AM5 platform. The FPS does get slow at times (so 4 stars), but its still playable enough, bringing happy memories from childhood.

Yeah it's not based in the Wing Commander universe but it's another space game with a fantastic story line and amazing acting. Clive Owen before he became huge, Christopher Walken, John Hurt, list goes on. Lots of ships to try out, lots of items to upgrade, and a deep story to unravel. Privateer 1 is still my ultimate favorite but I really enjoyed this one as well. I was able to get Privateer 1 running on my android phone with DosBox for android so I'm also excited to see if I can get this to run as well.
