Prince of Persia

I'll keep it simple: this game does many many things the wrong way. The very core of what makes a Prince of Persia game has been raped by taking away the challenge. Combat is simplified and it's seemingly impossible to fail because the game will always "save you". It always baffled me how this game ever got any decent scores - every positive review seems to harp on about its great graphics yet admitting the game can be tedious, repetitive and dull. Really? Having played it, I can only agree except that I'm not willing to boost the score by 50% just because the game happened to be aesthetically pleasing. No thank you, this one is easily the worst of all recent Prince of Persia games and it's no small wonder that it sold pretty poorly as well.

This game is so dumbed down, I don't know if it's made for little children but the combat and gameplay are ridiculously simplified. It deserves 1 star but I gave it two because the graphics at least are nice.

That's right, you can't die. You can't fall. You don't have to worry about those kind of things. Also, there is a path carved in the walls and on the floor showing you where to go or climb, so you don't have to think about that either. You don't even have to think about which buttons to press, or when, because there are flashing things in colors corresponding to action keys that signal you when to press them... So, what are you actually doing in this game? I don't know, but whatever it is, it's got absolutely nothing to do with using your brain. Gameplay basically consists of: "See yellow color - press this button. See blue color - press that button." And that's the entire game. I've seen some animals solving much more complicated problems than that. This "game" is an outrageous insult to anyone (or anything) with an IQ above 10.

This game is the worst in the modern POP series. Graphics have a nice style but the gameplay, combat and story are below avarage. Its simplified so much even a monkey could play it... I recommend you to avoid it and get the older ones or forgotten sands instead
