What happened to the humans? Set in a post-apocalyptic world strewn with cast-off pieces of machinery, Primordia tells the story of Horatio Nullbuilt, who finds his peaceful existence threatened when a rogue robot steals his power core—the sole source of energy fueling his ship and keeping him alive. To recover it, the robot and his companion, Crispin, must leave behind their idyllic home for Metropol, the city of glass and light. Their quest to reclaim what has been taken away will lead Horatio to unexpected discoveries about his origins—and a new understanding of the humans who walked the earth before him.
Puzzles that emphasize logical thinking and exploration rather than trial and error or pointless backtracking.
A streamlined interface, player-friendly design combined with the challenge and depth of the classics.
Features over fifty hand-drawn rooms to explore, dozens of distinctive characters to meet, and gorgeous painted cutscenes to soak in.
Adventure games typically have a hard time immersing me fully, but this game had me stuck after an hour or so. Very much worth your time. The story is great, the characters are believable, the voice acting and music are tip top.
:))))
I am not an adventure game veteran, i played a few of them when i was younger, but most of them bored me really fast and i always thought that it just wasn't my type of game. I probably still would have been thinking the same thing if it wasn't for Primordia. I changed my mind about the genre thanks to this gem. The atmosphere and the world of Primordia is very engaging if you have at least a ltittle bit of love for sci-fi. The characters, music, voice acting and story are all top-notch. I really like the art style, but it is a little bit too pixelated for my taste, there were a few times when i didn't notice something important because it all gets blurry. The difficulty was ok, i think that the idea to implement a clue system built into your companion Crispin was a smart move. Thanks to that, even though English is not my first language i didn't need to look up solutions on the internet and it felt like i just cooperated with my litle robot friend (i admit, the poem puzzle took me some time). The ending(s) was satisfying and fit the story well. Besides minor graphical flaws i can't seem to think of anything that i did not like about Primordia. If you enjoy cyberpunk and sci-fi themes you won't regret buying this game, especially with its current price. And even if, like me, you are not into adventure games i think you will be up for a pleasant surprise.
Just finished playing, and really enjoyed the experience. The humanity of a machine after humanity is gone and inhumanity of machines after humanity is gone is a tragic. The puzzles were tough enough, but not crazy hard; and if needed you can find help on line. Enjoy
If you are a fan of the adventure genre, this game is a must play. The story, characters, art style, writing, voice acting, and puzzles are all fantastic. Lots of puzzles have multiple solutions to keep the story moving along at a nice pace. Primordia is a gaming gem that finds the perfect balance between challenge and adventure. I cannot recommend this game enough. This game won my heart with it's charm and engaging world. Easy 5 stars from me.
As someone who has tried a lot of point n click games but found themselves relatively unimpressed or simply uninterested in the genre, I can say that Primordia in every sense is what has given me second thoughts on the genre.
To say this game is 'genre-defining' isn't an overstatement, it feels like a huge breath of fresh air in terms of the formula of most games of its kind. What makes Primordia special is not only its fantastic and original narrative that kept me invested throughout the game, but primarily the way that a large amount of the puzzles in this game can be solved in multiple different ways, even when it may seem as if there is a single solution. It still has many of the restrictions of a regular point n click game, so don't expect to be able to complete puzzles or interact with characters with complete autonomy, but do expect to think about how you approach problems to change when you play this game.
I could gush about this game all day, and there are certainly some negative aspects (such as the beautifully decayed environments sometimes hiding interactible objects since the mixes of browns, grays and blacks tend to blend together) but instead I'll just say that this game is worth your time if you consider yourself a fan of point n click games and something to consider if you find yourself lukewarm about the genre as I did before playing Primordia. It is beautiful, it is creative, it is a well polished and expertly written game that asks questions without a simple answer. Well worth $10.
This game is waiting for a review. Take the first shot!
