God this game is AWFUL!

Please note that I did not purchase this from GOG, but the XBOX One console. PREY looks like it will be a decent FPS/Mystery/Puzzle game. LOOKS, I said. Once you start playing you find that the developers had no idea how to structure level design, challenge ratings, or even simple puzzles. You can't sneak around because there is no stealth mechanic. You can't shoot the enemy because there is absolutely NEVER enough ammunition for any of the weapons. The fourth time you get swamped by mimics and you can't even beat the little shits to death because of an obnoxious stamina meter that prevents you from spamming melee you'll want to throw your controller at the wall. (Seriously, how fat and out of shape is Morgan Wu that swinging a wrench four times in a row leaves him gasping for breath?) This will be the final Arkane title I purchase. Anita Sarkeesian's stink is all over this game as much as the Dishonored series. There isn't a single white, heteronormal male in a positive role anywhere in this game (or any Arkane titles post 2012). I'm sick and tired of woke BS infesting the media I purchase and I'm no longer interested in paying for it. This game is no exception. You play as "Morgan Wu." Note that you're not Caucasian, and the naming is specifically androgynous. After suffering through Dishonored 2 and Bioshock Infinite (Which is NOT a BioShock game, and only has limited BioShock elements bolted on to gain name recognition for sales.), I literally groaned during the intro when the helo pilot recommended I look out the window and saw Arkane's logo defacing the Golden Gate Bridge. This is not a spiritual successor to System Shock. This is flat out a garbage game with poor playability. I don't care about the story because playing the damn thing is a chore. You might love it, but I found it infuriating almost to the level of Disney Star Wars and for the same reason: It killed my desire to ever buy anything else from this development staff just like LucasArts did.

Boring for Various Reasons

I think the Game itself isn't badly made, it has its stuff going on, but only after a Few Hours I got bored and Annoyed. First of all, I'm not going to run left and Right with Respawnable enemies and do some side Quests i couldn't care less about. The Quest where I stopped was where I had to get Voice Samples, it doesn't show me where I need to go, it tells me in the quest that I need to go to Quarters, I got outside, fly everywhere with that bad Flying System and don't find anything, I have to Google and Look YouTube to figure stuff out, i don't have the Time for stuff like that. In General the Game is pretty Standard with annoying stuff, Its Tedious, Exhausting to Play in my Opinion.

Avoid it

First of all I'm not much of an fps player. Also I want to play a game for fun, not to get frustrated. I was curious about the game becuse of the reviews here but wondered why I didn't know about it before. Well, because it's REALLY not for a casual gamer like myself. It's slow paced as for the story. Well, more like boring. Yet when enemies appear, you cant even track them and it's almost sheer luck to land a hit with the damn wrench. Then it comes to meet the first phantoms where I get killed literally in 2 seconds. On the very beginning of the game. The f*ck is that supposed to be? So, if you like your nerves being tortured, then this is your game. If you are looking for fun, avoid it.

Feels Lazy

I was going in hoping to like this game as I really liked the original Prey and really liked Bioshock. This one just seemed lazy with one location and one type of enemy. It seems like they tried copying a bunch of different games also, like starting out like Half-Life, doing tests like Portal and not to mention trying to be a "spiritual successor" to Bioshock. The game just seemed really boring to me.

I have this game on steam

This game is total garbage let me explain This game tries so hard to be system shock 2.5 it's got every element of shock 2 in it even a character called Danielle Sho, Gravshafts instead of lifts should have been called aftershock or something NOT prey it has *NOTHING* to do with the original prey 2006 game just bethsoft being D*cks. Would have preferred Prey 2. The levels are a terrible mess even in Outer space - Invisible walls Annoying clipping issues, monsters that strangely instakill you when you walk around corners, Generic Corridor syndrome, Places where you can get stuck on level geometry, Game Chugs even on my New PC not getting anywhere near 60 FPS annoying hitboxes that don't detect things properly, Immortal enemies that just WILL NOT DIE and kill you within 2 seconds flat. The Monsters are these shadow things that turn into things - Typhons? That is JUST LAZY spider things + fire, Ice, electricity ones Phantom + the same stupid floating robots that look ridiculous and are annoying - Do you want to here a JEAKE Pac man style floating "ghosts" that are near impossible to kill and that STUPID camera scanner thing oh yes lets scan these things WHILE they kill us in 2 seconds flat The difficulty spikes are truly horrendous - Lift level - 2 floating robots and a PAC MAN ghost = IMPOSSIBLE enough said Who thought it was a good idea to put PAC MAN style ghosts in this game The outside the station bits feel really unnatural and it is difficult to aim plus everything is floating even those one eyed ghost things The weapons are as under powered as 50 Grenade rounds and still that thing is running / floating around and to top it off the Enemies come in Varieties that can only be killed certain ways which is a pain! Game needs patches PRONTO!
