Oryginalny "Planescape: Torment" został wydany w 1999 r. i był bardzo dobrze przyjęty przez szerokie grono odbiorców. Wygrał niejedną nagrodę RPG roku za niekonwencjonalną opowieść, postacie i wspaniałą ścieżkę dźwiękową. Od tego czasu miliony fanów "Planescape: Torment" cieszyły się możliwością zgłębiania niebezpiecznego i dziwnego miasta Sigil i otaczających go płaszczyzn przy pomocy Bezimiennego.
"Co może zmienić naturę człowieka?" - Jesteś Bezimiennym, niezdarnym osobnikiem pokrytym bliznami i tatuażami zebranymi w trakcie niezliczonych żywotów, których nie pamiętasz, lecz które teraz powracają, aby cię niepokoić. Budzi cię Morte, latająca czaszka i strażnik tajemnic. Ruszasz w podróż zabierającą Bezimiennego z brudnych ulic Sigil do tajemniczych Sfer Zewnętrznych, a nawet do samego Piekła.

Good job of a disappointing "game"
I clearly remember the hype about PS:T while playing BG back in the 90s. This year I stumbled upon my original BG1-discs and played ALL OF 'EM again thanks to Beamdog. And with PS:T I have now played all of 90s greatest CRPGs. Is PS:T worth it? In my opinion, Beamdog did a great job on reviving PS:T. It's playable on widescreen, all the old bugs are now gone, different solutions give equal XP (if they didn't give that for no reason in the original) and concerning Beamdog's job one must rate it 5/5 for their devs! Outstanding! Thank you! Now, the game "Planescape: Torment". *Know* that I've played Pen&Paper D&D 3.5 for over 3 years IN GAME. I played nearly every standard class, some prestige classes, went CR30+, slayed Larloch (took us all in all 13 gamedays) and what I like most about (P&P) RPGs: Roleplaying. Be your hero. Find solutions. AND EXPLORE! *Especially* everything else than the Prime Material Plane. It was designed for a REASON! In this regard PS:T is the worst disappointment I've ever seen. It is so forced "philosophical" that it just doesn't stir emotions. Everything's plain, blank, without individuality. BG shows a much uglier society, more devious plots, real threats/twists, a good fighting system, coherent spells/classes (a Cleric has *no* class beyond 3rd level spells and 0 usefulness throughout PS:T), it sports real challenges and BG's/IWD's stories sink in. PS:T lacks everything. The fights are boring from start to finish, half of all spells are useless, the rest are way OP, there is no threat, no danger, just boredom. As much as I like the the thought of talking yourself out of everything and acting PS:T is as linear as BG/IWD. You can even defeat the last boss through talk and the "best" ending, your adventures to "dangerous" planes... Play BG. Conclusion: PS:T is a great animation of a superficial novel you would never bother to finish. 1/5 for the game which totals 3/5 stars. So play it once and then imitate the protagonist: Forget PS:T.
