I've played tons of the original, and this is a renewed version. For the most part it's as good or better than the original. However a few details were made worse. I can't specify more since I made a few months break and can't remember my original issues just that I had them. Except for Seth no longer destroying invaders so you always HAVE to have a military, which is something that makes some missions unreasonably dificult because they were designed to be done through religion and economics and not military. Other the downsides are very much not a big deal since I forgot them all.
Whoever liked the original Pharaoh will love this one too.
There are some undeniable improvements (graphics, audio...), but doesn't worth the premium over the older version IMO.
I expected gameplay improvements, especially about the annoying random path thing, which in 2023 shouldn't be difficult to replace with better mechanics.
Instead, the game gives you a pair off red/green cells to show you where walkers enter / exit the buildings. Looks like a big "lol, fu" that turns the "forced walker" exploit of Caesar-like games into an explicit gameplay element...
This game is waiting for a review. Take the first shot!
