Chapter 4 and up is broken.

SO, you save Kenabres, you liberate drezen, and now turn your eye to the multitude of quests to complete, and lands to capture.. and if you are lich, during land and fort captures you will want to NOT automate the crusade system. Now, Chapter 3 comes along, i don't hear the stupid horn and now Galfrey is pissed at me for being a lich that seized every possible piece of land and fort i could while demoliting every demon army that the game allows me to do.. now i won't put in the spoiler but i enter act 4, chose my next mythic rank, cause chapter end, and BOOM crash to desktop.. if you are not constantly savign this game, YOU WILL BE PISSED at ALL the progression you lose. i am not sure WTF is wrong with owlcat, but COME ON MAN! this is a buggy mess of a game crashes midway through chapter two, a pain in the butt of a crash an hour or less in chapter 3, and first thing i do in chapter 4 =crash? i have 16 gigs of memory, and a I9 9900K with the game on an SSD running on a 1080 GPU this game SHOULD be cakewalk. Seriously, go hire some peeps from Nexus mods that obviously are neckbeard guru's of code and let them have at it for a week for 50K. guarantee they fix your buggy mess, and increase optimization in that time, like they do bethesda games.

What makes it goog also makes it bad ?

Completed with only a mythic path. It' strange: I liked it, but most of its stronger aspects make also the game a mess. So, the good ones 1. Pathfinder! gives tons of classes/templates, spells, equipment, things to choose from 2. You can set a lot of parameters regarding combat, because (the game tells you) it will be difficult (true? maybe) 3. Choose between turn-based combat and realtime with pause, great! 4. Huge campaing, awesome.. a lot of things to do, stories, npc to meet; everyone beatifully designed and there's a great number of situations you'll encounter and choices that will make the difference 5. Mythic Paths. Great Idea, very fun to play, very very nice addition to the mechanics/storytelling 6. Crusade Mode. The Idea is a very powerful one, adds another layer onto the game! 7. Companions make the story enjoiable 8. The ending was a nice surprise, it fits But.. 1. Predefined career paths (a way the game is supposed to help you) are not good enough even for default settings; you'll have to look outside the game to find solutions.. why? 2. This cant be a justification for very bad encounter balancing; i have played 3/4 of the game with the settings at minimum (damage to party, no criticals, enemies depowered, etc) because without them it was too frustrating; in a party on real life, a similar effect will cause the campaing to end 3. I played only in turns mode.. i thought maybe this will take a bit longer to finish the game? Now i think.. a LOT longer 4. Ehi, wait a moment.. maybe it has too much things to do? Sometimes i thought "oh, no.. another encounter? please no" and that's not a good reaction 5. Will i ever see all they can offer? For the (4) point, probably i will not often replay the game; a pity 6. Do we needed it? You can disable it or turn into automatic-mode, but this will make you miss (i readed) locations and stuff.. bad 7. They do not leave if they disagree 8. "things back to normal" if you do not maximise crusade results? really?

Runs better than Kingmaker

JFC Owlcat! I really want to like your games, the story and mechanics are great (when they work). At first I was happy that at least this game seemd better optimized than Kingmaker (i.e. no random frame-rate drops). However, even in the "Enhanced Edition" there's still so many bugs: - Whole classes/archetypes that are broken beyond memeability (Blood Kineticist). - Quests that don't complete (Gwerm's Mansion). - Weird animation glitches (mounted combat). You guys really need a team of editors to pair your games down to something you can actually deliver in the timeframe you set yourselves without this year(s) long extended beta/early access phase. Also, fix your GOG patchers so that they don't delete important files needed for the game to run (necessitating a complete reinstall).

My favourite crpg

I love this game mostly for the deep of the class system. I used to love neverwinter night 1&2 and the pathfinder games are the perfect successor.. Story is good, mythic path system is a really good idea...

If you love isometric cRPGs

Get this. I'm not a fan of the setting and I like games where you play at low levels, but despite that I have to give this 5 stars. The Good: Clear goals and storyline. I'm not into demon storylines but this was at least interesting and you get too invested in the storyline to care about minor details. Some of the party members are great, some are meh, but you get a diverse (in a good way: personality, backstory) cast to play with and there are enough good ones that you can leave behind the bad. Their mythic system is a genius idea for how to insert replayability and meaningful player choice without having to write a million different storyline plots to satisfy everyone. Major improvements in bugginess vs their previous game. I played WOTR in beta and while it was good, I was hugely concerned by the amount of bugs (and I normally don't encounter most bugs). They pulled off what few studios do though and made major improvements between Beta and release. The Bad: Cartoony graphics, less flexibility in terms of plot characters than their previous game. Less impressive storyline twists. Also, you're not going to completely change what story unfolds but you can change how it unfolds in many ways.
