The Imperial Edition includes:
- A premium downloadable copy of the game which contains 2 in-game items to help an aspiring adventurer (a signet that allows you to bless your party several times a day, and a belt with bonus disease and fatigue resistance). Premium in-game items are not designed to break the game’s balance.
- Two additional portraits. Images of a fearless warrior from Cheliax and a skilful elf wizard will be included in the gallery of portraits available upon creating a character.
- A digital Art Book. 176 pages with sketches of characters, monsters, items and the game world, lovingly selected by our artists.
- Official soundtrack. Contains a complete set of in-game music, created by Inon Zur and our Owlcat Games composer.
- A digital module for board game adventures. This module has been created from scratch by game designer Chris Avellone assisted by Paizo experts to express gratitude to the entire pen'n'paper RPG community and the Pathfinder universe for providing support and being a source of inspiration for working on the game.
- A digital high-resolution map of the Stolen Lands. This detailed map can be used as a desktop wallpaper. It can also help you navigate the dangerous and mysterious territories of the Stolen Lands.
- A Red panda. This pet not only greets its owner, standing adorably on its hind legs, it will also increase your negative effect resistance.
- A Season Pass. The Season Pass will automatically get you access to the first three packages of post-release downloadable content. PC gamers looking for the old time cRPG feeling can't go wrong with Pathfinder: Kingmaker. The presentation is beautiful, the writing is excellent, and the world offers just enough life to engage the player's imagination to fill in the gaps. Still, at the time of this writing, balancing issues and bugs keep the game from being a definite recommend – at least for the time being.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker is a huge game. The depths of its mechanics seem to have no limit while the time spent playing it is equally eternal. With complex rules and stripped back tutorials, though, it is not an easy game to jump into to say the least.

Expected Birthright, got Baldur's Gate.
I've been playing video games for 20 years. As far as I can remember at the moment of writing this review, Pathfinder: Kingmaker is the only game that actually disappointed me. All other games for which I wrote negative reviews had objective faults that ruined those games. This is the only one for which I leave a negative review because it's not what it should have been, or at the very least what I expected it to be. I expected Birthright: The Gorgon's Alliance. What I got instead is Baldur's Gate. I'm a fan of grand strategy games. As such, when I first heard about Kingmaker, I was very interested. A fantasy RPG in which you also have to take care of your own kingdom? I knew I had to take a look. What I expected was an RPG that requires that you spend a lot of time managing your kingdom. Economy, diplomacy, building infrastructure, passing laws, stuff like that. What I got instead is a generic CRPG in which you also make a handful of decisions about your kingdom. For just five minutes. Every two or so hours. 95% of time you're out in the field adventuring, as if you were playing Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights. I'm sorry, but if I wanted to play those games, I'd actually play those games instead, not a game that claims to be all about building your own kingdom. And then the devs have the audacity to give you an option to turn even that off by making it automatic. This is the only game I know of, besides patched Daikatana, that allows you to turn its most important gameplay feature off. That's never a good sign. And this is not even touching upon some of the questionable design choices. This may be the first time I label a video game as a waste of potential. It could have been a fantasy kingdom sim (reference intended), with equal emphasis on adventuring and kingdom management, but ended up being the same as any other CRPG that's been released in the last 7 years. 95% adventuring, 5% kingdom management, the entire point of the game completely wasted.

Season passes is a no go
I like to take my time playing and enjoy a rerun from time to time. Although the game interests me I will only buy my own copy as soon as the full game is available without season passes.

Absolutely horrible. You spend more time resting then actually playing the game. Buy 100 healing potions if you want to even fight minor battles. This is definitley the worst game I have ever played, the developers should be ashamed
