Pandemonium 2

At first i tried to run this game in wine on my linux laptop. Game worked perfectly... except no music. I was thinking that it's maybe wine problem (other game that use same ogg files plus that set of dlls do work fine in wine, right out of the box, no special settings needed). Now i tried to run it on my Win10 laptop... nope. Copied game folder to old Win8.1 laptop... nope. As final attempt - copied it to a very old Phenom II desktop and tried to run in WinXP... you can guess... no music either. Which is sad. Still have my PS disc and a PS2 but as people mentioned here - PS version doesn't have saves. Back to emulators i guess. If you're fine with playing without music or just throwing soundtrack in player - game works well.

What can I say about this game that I didn't say about the first game? because honestly not much has changed outside of a redesign of the two main characters to make them more "edger"(how much you want to bet a clueless executive was behind that) making Niki less the girl next door and more cheap of trying to hard to be a prepubescent young boys fap material and Fargus into a unstable pyscho. but thankfully you don't play these games for their characters but rather the gameplay and platforming which stays pretty much the same just minus the creature transformation parts. The level design is good though it feels a bit less crazier/more tame in there overall design(i.e no things like the "pinball" level or level 2 where you go up the tower only to be chased back down by a moving spike trap) then the first at least to me it's not a bad thing but you would hope for more with a sequel not less. Still it's still very solid and fun though even if the endings and the new character designs are meh. So if you liked the first game then you will like this one if you didn't then you probably won't care for this one either

Pandemonium 2 is strongly different from its prequel, the first episode was fiabesque and careless, this one is psychedelic and "weird". The level design is not always good, some levels are boring and repetitive, some bosses look awful and blocky. The two characters changed drastically (in a bad way) although they now have more diffences in abilities and power-up. I can say it's almost a good game but this version doesn't have background music, only FX, I've played it by listening the music tracks on youtube, some of them are nice, others are anonymous. Far inferior to its prequel

Fantastic 2.5D platformer, holds up quite well. A remaster would be great of both games.

Possibly the weirdest platformer I've ever played. Very bizarre levels. The quality and variation between levels have massive differences, so I assume that different people worked on different levels. Some are terrible, some are awesome. The ending was the strangest thing I've ever seen in a video game. GOG version has no music (other reviews claim that there is music but it is absolutely broken), in either case some fan made a fix, if you experience the same issues download it and extract it and the music will play properly then. 7/10
