A lovely story but ...

The story in the game is great. I just felt like th choices at times where to quick to come up and if you clicked on something while somebody talked you kind interrupted the whole conversation at times so sometimes best to let them finish talking unless it comes to you making a choice then make it quick as you do not have long to pick one. Using the radio to tune into things was different and wasn't a bad thing. There are many choices that will effect the outcome of it all. The story with whats going on can be somewhat hard to get a grip about at the start but will clear up the further you get into it. For me it was a game to play through once and it was a nice experience but nothing that made me feel like I have to play it again.

The right amount of wierd

I didn't like the game at first. The characters were annoying and I thought I didn't like the dialogue system. Boy I was wrong. After some minutes playing (15 minutes, I guess), I was hooked. The game is intriguing, the story is not obvious. Everything is short, but in the right pace. You start having feelings for the characters. My responses in the dialogue system started reflecting what I was feeling, rather my "strategy" for the game. That's not common. This is four hours you are not going to regret, or forget.

Ambitious, yet lacking something.

The game's story is enthralling. While I'm not usually into parnormal fantasies, this one really got me. I'd love to dive into the whole background even more, however the problem lies in the way it's served. The only option of skimming through the setting and the story behind it is by collecting letter pieces scattered all over the island. Which is a pity! In any other game these collectibles would be extra irrelevant items rather than this quite rudimentary pieces of information that give you actual data on the game's plot. To make it even worse, the exploration isn't at all that easy. Yes, you do walk around a lot, although with constraints felt all the time (and no "run" button as well). It's not an exploration-friendly game, really. Dialogues are another drawback. While interesting, you don't really get to interact the way you'd like to. You only get seconds to pick the line of your choosing and in the end your character might say something vaguely related to your selection. But, there are pros anyway. The characters, even though modelled as stereotypical american teenagers, are profound enough to make you think of them warmly. The story, like I said, is worth it. Graphical style is neat. The game is choice-driven, so (some of) your actions influence the ending (although early in the game you might choose sides unwittingly, as the importance of choices is unobvious). Note that the game has its creepy moments. I probably wouldn't play it while home alone at 3 AM. Long story short, some will like it, some won't. I, likely, won't replay it, even though the five hours of gameplay I had were OK. Or maybe it was "just OK".

One of my top ten, really!

Walking simulator + taletell like dialogues + every horror movie cliches ever. When I put it like this, it seems like a lame game. But it is NOT! This game brought all those cliches togeter, mix them and made something special. Bunch of teenager with stupid dramas goes an island to spent the night. Weird things happens. Things itself is not original but the presention is so good you want more and more of these horror teen movie cliches. Characters are not original either but, again, it is all about the presention. Writing and pacing of story is so good, it hooks you up. I played it TWICE in one season with a lunch break. Well, second run was the real deal, actually. I don't want to spoil it, all I can say is give attenion, try to remember your first run, explore carefully and you should be fine in your second run. Don't listen those who says "I can't change the outcome, there are no real choices, ending not making any sense" or other crap. They simply didn't get it. Hopefully you can. Voice acting is just right. Not good or bad, just right. Those characters have to talk like that. It feels so real. Music is kinda meh but it is not annoying. There are some minor bugs, not game breaking but keeping you collect all achivment (one of the achivment is a place where you cannot just go back and stuck, restart from the scene). Controls might be better, I guess. It is hard to read both the subtitles which is bottom of the screen and give attention your own response poping up above the head of your character. Those little things made me cut off one star from rating. I hope these guys make more games in future.

Evening chill kinda game

Good game with decent story. The only issue I had is that English is not my native language and I had to really race the game to read all the options I was given. Besides that - great experience.
