In the game's seriously warped fantasy world, you’ll become the Overlord and find out for yourself whether absolute power corrupts absolutely. You could be a regular Overlord who only overlords during banking hours. However, with incredible power at your disposal and a team of evil-minded impish critters, the Minions, on hand to do your bidding, how will you resist the temptation to be wonderfully despotic?
Delve deeper into the Overlord's twisted world as Overlord: Raising Hell opens up a series of hellish new levels, each a twisted, corrupted version of the five major kingdoms: Mellow Hills, Evernight, Heaven's Peak, the Golden Halls, and the Ruborian Desert. Access to each abyss is via a portal, which opens once a kingdom has been successfully conquered and the previous ruler banished to a personal hell within. However it's not just the fallen heroes that have been dragged into the abyss: the Overlord's newly loyal peasants have also been taken down into hell too. Do you have what it takes to be really, really, really evil?

It was fun for a bit, I couldn't make it all the way through. The control scheme seems decent at first but the minion AI gets frustrating, and the need to farm some types of life force to make up for the AI problems gets old.
Gameplay is about being lead through missions in a corridor shooter style, but after putting some hours in I feel like it was closer to a point-and-click adventure.
There's very little strategy either, so it didn't have enough to compel me to finish.
It's not bad, though, and the game has a sense of humor, it just wasn't enough to keep me interested.

Also who doesn't want to have two woman, an army of goblins, design your own lair and beat the sh*t out of so called heros who got corrupted after they beat you .
Overlord to gra, w której wcielamy się w tego złego, a w zasadzie w Pana Zła. Rozgrywka polega na sterowaniu oddziałem złych stworków, gotowych niszczyć, kraść i zabijać wszystko na naszej drodze. Całość podana jest w lekkiej formie, okraszonej humorem z dodatkiem absurdu. Gra przebiega w wielu lokacjach - w każdej z nich musimy zabić bohaterów albo władców po drodze niszcząc wszelkie istnienie (albo tylko część, jeśli mamy taki kaprys).
Niestety, tu dochodzimy do bolączek tej gry. Pierwszym z nich jest powtarzalność. Fajnie się niszczy przez kilka godzin, potem miałem wrażenie, że to nie ma większego celu. Przeciwnicy należą do kilku ras, ale zasadniczo większość z nich jest podobna do siebie. Dlatego większość starć to było po prostu wszyscy na jednego. Prawdopodobnie twórcy widzieli ten problem, więc z czasem dodali też specjalne umiejętności do niektórych przeciwników. Niestety, zrobili to w okropny sposób. Od pewnego momentu gry niektórzy wrogowie posiadają atak, który może zabić 10-20 stworków (pod koniec gry mamy naraz 35-40). To oznacza, że nieuważając można stracić w ciągu sekundy połowę swojej armii. To nie byłoby jeszcze takie złe, gdyby nie to, że przeciwnicy się odradzają i mogą przyjść z losowych kierunków. Tak więc na koniec, można było stracić swoją armię w ciągu kilku sekund. Monotonne i irytujące.
To powodowało, że gra była dużo bardziej nastawiona na grind, by zdobyć zasoby do odbudowania armii. Co gorsze, system tworzenia przedmiotów używa naszej armii jako jeden ze składników (w absurdalnych ilościach po kilka setek!), co jeszcze bardziej wzmacnia potrzebę powtarzania w kółko tego samego.
Ogólnie polecam fanom serii. Myślę, że nie ma co poświęcać czasu tej grze.
I bought it after release and couldnt stop playing. Its pretty unique and the dark humor is supported great by the incredible art design. It not only resembles Pikmin in some kind of way, but also games like legend of zelda - in the world you can pass certain points only if you got new powers that are necessary to use there. All in all it was a great experience playing through it (i actually finished it three times) and the first one is a lot better than the second one, which is also good, but incredibly linear. Highly recommended, worth the money!
