Outcast – Second Contact is the complete remake of the cult title Outcast. As the first 3D open world in the history of video games and pioneer in the modern action-adventure genre, the 1999 release won over 100 awards including adventure game of the year.

Pure Nostalgia
I played the original back when it came out and loved it. Played the 1.1 version and tried the second contact version a few years ago. Back then I was not completely convinced. Maybe it was not the right time or there were some issues, I don't remember. But nowadays, this is the best version for me. It uses the original voice acting, which at least in German was awesome (German synchro of Bruce Willis was voicing Cutter Slade with lots of cheesy lines). I experienced only a few minor bugs (labyrinth map in Motazaar not appearing, but that worked after reloading a save). Character graphics are ok-ish, animations are bad, the world looks good. Controls are awful, but good enough to play the game without major issues. Story is cheesy, dialogue is cheesy. I love it. It is not a remake, but a remaster. So don't expect modern gameplay, story, mechanics, etc. :-)
