An Amazing and Beautiful Metroidvania

This game is amazing and very beautiful! Firstly, the visuals are very gorgeous. It is the most beautiful Metroidvania game I have seen (probably the most beautiful 2-d game). I love the forest atmosphere and the different environments that you have to go through. The story is simple, but very emotional. There were moments in the game that almost made me teary eye (and they still do). The character and enemy designs are well made and the main protagonist, Ori, is lovable and very adorable. The music is amazing and bring a lot to the atmosphere. The gameplay is amazing. The controls are smooth and also tight. The skills and abilities you obtain focus on platforming and especially one, called bashing, is a lot of fun to use! The progression is pretty linear with objectives that help you know where to go, but it also allows some exploring. The combat is different from typical combat; you keep a certain distance from the enemy and attack using ranged, proximity attacks. The world and level designs are really good. The platforming is challenging and the levels contain a good amount of puzzles. There are no bosses (except for mini-bosses) in the game, but the challenges come from the platforming. IMO, the best parts of the game are the escape sequences (a played a lot of other Metroidvanias and the ones I played seem to have little to no escape sequences). The escape sequences were thrilling and amazing, and what got me to love this game. Since this is the definitive edition, they added a lot of improvements from the original such as teleportation, difficulty selection, and the ability to go back to a couple of previous areas (since the original contained a couple areas that you can't go back to once completed). This edition also added new areas and abilities that are fun to use. Overall, this is an amazing game to me. If you love Metroidvania and/or platforming with an emotional story and likable characters, get this game!

Truly outstanding in every way!

I've played Ori on Switch but I'm sure it's great on every platform. There is so much love in this outstanding 2D platformer: Meaningful story, beautyful rich detailed GFX, very fitting sound. The developers of ORI want you to progess. Well, there are some key paths where it's tricky and partially hard (normal mode). In such a case you can (temporarily) reduce the difficulty level to pass such key positions. With every new ability you see the game and some areas with a new perspective. With those it makes sense to return some areas in order to reach previously unreachable levels. The controls are smooth and fair in every way. If you fail it was you not the game. All over a very well designed 2D platformer with some new features and some tricky riddles. For full or reduced price: You will miss something in your gamer life if you haven't played Ori.

Gra gwizda tylko twórca .........

Pomijam całkowicie poglądy twórcy gry który więcej ryczy jak to warte i nie powinno robić się w taki sposób taniej reklamy w postaci popularnego w ostatnim czasie nieuzasadnionego hejtu. W kilku słowach nie da się opowiedzieć jak ta gra zasługuje na uwagę. Przepiękna ręcznie rysowana grafika, przyjemne dla oka przewijanie i dość duże poziomy jak na tego typu produkcję. Optymalizacja o dziwo jest solidna gra uruchomi się dosłownie na byle czym nie tracąc nic ze swojego przyjemnego odbioru. Wzruszająca muzyka to kolejny element zapadający w pamięć. Kompozytor odwalił dosłownie tutaj kawał rzetelnej pracy. Jak na tego typu gatunek gry fabuła sprawiła że do gry będę wracał a dopełnieniem tych chęci to przyjemnie wymagająca rozgrywka na odpowiednim poziomie trudności gra jak dla mnie fantastyczna.

Masterpiece

From start to finish, it's an immersive game with its music and graphics. The story will grip you and perhaps awaken some emotions with its bitter sweet ending. It can be very frustrating on harder difficulties, especially if you want to unlock the achievements (XBOX One version). But in the end, it's a must for every platformer enthusiast.

Amazing game!

I played this amazing game with my daughter when it was first released, although she was far too young to control Ori she constantly asked to see more of the game. Such is the attachment she had with the game, it's story and it's characters. The gameplay is superb. I understand lots of people complained about the difficulty but if a game isn't challenging then it's at risk of being boring and repetitive, who Ori is definitely not. One of our favourite games, with one of the best sound tracks of any game ever. Currently working through it's sequel.
