Time Travel is real and history is up for grabs! In this point-and-click, you play Fia Quinn, a time agent for the ChronoZen agency. Your job is to keep close watch on seven travelers who have the desire (and the bank accounts) to sightsee in the past. Some are simply curious. Others have unfinished business to resolve. And they’ve all put down a lot of money for the trip, so it’s vital that you keep them happy while ensuring they follow the rules. But what could go wrong? It's only time travel, after all.

Not quite Unavowed, but one of the best
This is a phenomenal point&click adventure game, with extremely sharp writing and fantastic voice work bringing the characters to life. Without wanting to give much away, a lot of the plot is about how changing the past through commercial time travel affecs the people doing the changes and how they handle their dayjob (going to the past to change things!). The graphics are a bit of a mixed bag insofar that the style is very well pulled off, but personally not my cup of coffee. *Everything* else however, from the sound design over the amazing voiceovers to the slick UI is exceptionally well done. Not unexpected for Wadjet Eye, but beautiful to see nontheless. IMO it does not *quite* dethrone Unavowed as the best point&click game ever (incidentally by the same company!) but it's definitely a contender. Highly recommended!

Great Time-Traveling Game
Wadjet Eyes hits another high note with Old Skies. The game's central conceit revolves around time travel. I was often surprised by plot twists, but it was rarely something that I couldn't have guessed at before I saw it coming. In other words, the time travel isn't used as a Deus Ex Machina. If anything, the game's point is that time travel couldn't solve all of our problems, or even the ones that mean the most to us. Or, put another way, you have to take value in the experience itself. Even if it can be changed. Even if it can be unmade. I'd be spoiling the game to explain HOW the characters feel about this, but you get a spectum of takes. As for the game itself, it's fantastic. I loved jumping between eras, seeing a gradually-developing web of interrelated cause-and-effect, and meeting each chapter's personalities. I was happy that our protagonist has a lot of character development herself. I was SURPRISED to see that other characters got as much development (or introspection). As for the gameplay, well... I'm not a fan of point-and-click adventure games, to be honest. I used a guide to save myself frustration and get through this game in about 12 hours. I still enjoyed seeing how the puzzles came together to tell an interesting story. Most of them seem easy enough that I might have gotten through them without a guide, but I imagine I'd have added at least a couple hours onto my playtime. There are occasional ones that rely on a complex series of events or running around and clicking on people or objects to figure out how to proceed, but I think if you're enough of a fan of these games to try that out, you'll still find a lot to appreciate. The art's gorgeous. The music's great. The voice acting team did a fantastic job. I could go on. If you're a fan of time travel and point-and-click games, Old Skies is worth playing.

Loved it!
Wadjet Eye games by Dave Gilbert are never focused on the puzzles. And this is absolutely true for this one, the focus is clearly on the story and the characters. I love puzzles and missed them in other games, but I didn't miss them here. The emotional level of the story may not resonate with everyone, but I was drawn in. The voiceacting is outstanding and the art is also stepping up a notch compared to the last games.
