Good, but buggy adventure game
The Nancy Drew game series is generally a fun assortment of adventure/edutainment titles and Curse of Blackmoor Manor is significantly darker than a majority of the other entries. The character models are unintentionally creepy and aren't animated very well, the voice acting isn't the best, the interface can be a bit limited and sometimes you're stuck playing around in a time wasting game of luck instead of solving an actual puzzle (like when you have to play Bul), but for the most part, this is a pretty enjoyable game. Where it really falters, however, is in the significant amount of bugs that plague the puzzles throughout the game (wait until you get to the frog/pond puzzle...), and it's quite possible to run into a number of game breaking glitches in this one. I recommend playing on Senior Detective difficulty if you enjoy a challenge (aside from the aforementioned issues with the awful frog puzzle), while Junior Detective is quite appropriate for the younger players. Hopefully GOG continues to add more of this franchise to the service, because everyone should get the chance to play Danger at Deception Point and Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake!
