For a long time I couldn't get into any game and just kept buying them to fill the void but this one is just so addicting and I say 1 more fight, 1 more quest, etc, and I haven't even scratched the surface of this yet. There are some things like I think I get a hit in but it doesn't register or i'm missing my hits and some derpy Ai occasionally but nothing to bad just needs some bug fixes that need to be ironed out and I hope the devs continue to work on this masterpiece
I have played 1,000's of hours in Warband, and until now, it was my favorite game of all time.
In Bannerlord I have played for 800+ "days" in my playthrough so far. My character has gone from nothing with just a few family members, to a rich merchant, to a lord of Battania, to a very powerful lord of Battania (with a kid on the way!). For the first time ever in a M&B game, I'm ok with not being king. There is SO MUCH life in this game compared to Warband. Essentially every exploit, easy tactic, annoying wierd thing and overpowered trick is gone. Of course there are some issues, glitches and general weirdness, but for early access being this good, I can't imagine how amazing this game will be for the coming years.
I got frustrated with this game a decent amount a few times, but I was proven wrong and ignorant. Coming from single player Warband, it is pretty dang different, but so much better.
IF you feel the game is unfair, PAY ATTENTION. This game is not Warband. You can't just kill sea raiders, buy velvet weaveries, level up knights, F1-F3=win.
My tips (spoilers kinda): Caravans are very profitable. Try them. Don't build a workshop in a town without first knowing what the attached villages produce. When trading, pay attention to which villages around which towns have a lack of a certain product. Clay from Battania selling to Valandia made me a lot of money after I found the trade route. If you own a castle, and they feel too expensive to garrison, work hard on improving their prosperity. Keep a LOT of food on you and always join armies, they usually get hungry and you can build up influence quick.
This game has become my favorite of all time, and I'm certain only another TaleWorlds game could top it. These guys know how to make a good game. <3
This game takes what was great about the original Mount & Blade series and turns it into something unbelievable. I've sunk so much time into this game that I've entirely lost track. Every time I return for a new campaign, I'm sucked into it all over again.
In it's earliest state, I can see how others would give the game less than 5 stars. I started playing the game at v1.5.4 and haven't experienced any game breaking bugs or anything that would impede upon my progress in the game.
Commanding your soldiers has never been more engaging and entertaining. The feeling of riding around a battlefield while your Bogatyr Sturgian hero is shouting out commands is indescribable. Combat itself is engaging and requires a bit more skill than the "smack till it's dead" type combat you see from Skyrim, for example.
I further absolutely adore the clan system that is in this game. Having brothers and sisters that look similar to your character and are believably related to them based on looks is amazing to me; I love the fantasy of rolling around the countryside with my brother at my side hacking up looters and fighting stinky Battanians.
I could go on, and on, and on about this game. I'm absolutely infatuated with it and it's worth every dime even in its early access state.
I bought this the day it came out on EA from the taleworld website (it wasn't on GOG at that time) and it is fantastic! It is not 100% done yet but I've put in over 600 hours in the last year+. I'm going to buy a copy for my sister once its done since she doesn't have as much time to play games and I want her to get the completed experience. But if you have played warband and liked it you will LOVE this game
This has gone a more cartoony way, especially the 10 year old little girls leading an army of men into battle. For real guys? Give me a solid Joan of Arc chick that is believable.
Then you got the worthless raiding. Can't get anything from a town but grain so have the AI risk their army doing it, not you. Hard to fund an army when you can't even get anything better than grain from raiding a town.
Stick with Warband. It is more period authentic and it is a lot more fun. Then you have the mods.
Bannerlord is not that game I was hoping for. Disappointed. Won't be buying it again.
This game is waiting for a review. Take the first shot!
