Mortal Kombat 1+2+3

The entire trilogy of games do not work properly at all. I'm very surprised that this has not been patched or fixed due to the number of people that have brought this same issue up. The keyboard is useless, it does not respond to any command and the games don't play. F10 does not active the setup for the games, it's only brings you back to your computer menu. DOS BOX does not acknowledge the keyboard commands in any way. Forget trying a controller because that does not work either. It's three ports that just don't work, no matter what is tried. I have now uninstalled them and given up. Very disappointed. GOG, please look into this and fix this trilogy.

Oh the childhood memories of these games! Excellent How is there no Linux support? The usage of DOSbox enables possibility of playing these games on Windows+OSX+Linux. I've bought Tie Fighter and X-wing that uses DOSbox and has Linux support. Whats probably missing is a simple installer and configs for the Linux version.

I'm really into emulation. And I started my interest in emulation with Mortal Kombat games. So you can imagine my disappointment. Not a minimal effort was given to make these DOS versions look like something more than just a game+emulator bundle. It's not a well-known "GOG remastered/reanimated version" of the old games. And the collection isn't even full since there was also MK Trilogy on DOS. Due to MK1 and MK2 limits you just can't define NumPad as keys. And forget about gamepads. You know, there is a pirate version of "MK DOS Collection", and it was compiled way better: common retro-pc-look front-end, all 4 games run better with no resolution issues. Also, it would be much better to release old Windows 95/98 versions of MK3, MK4 and MK Trilogy, but make it possible to run on modern systems. I still don't have these games on my account, but despite my terrible experience I'm still going to spend my money for it to add it to my library and to support people who blew the dust off it, and probably someday we will see working Windows versions of MK3, MK4 and MK Trilogy here, on GOG.

I try to start MK1 or 2 or 3 and the same thing happens. It tries to open the game then it just closes. I went into properties and set compatibility for Win 95, then Win Xp, & set to run as administrator and it still doesn't run. My guess is Microsoft once again found a way to lock down windows and make it less usable with older software.

Countless quarters were dumped into MKI, II and III back in the days of Arcades - and I was so happy to see these ported over to PC. I lost my originals EONS ago, so I am thankful GOG was able to strike a deal and get these here! Every so often I will load up one of the games, do a few rounds of KOMBAT and just rejoice at how fun MK was! Groundbreaking at the time, for what a fighting game was.
