Next to The Witcher franchise, this might be the most overrated game franchise in the world. Where's the fun? I know we all have our personal tastes. But being held by the hand, and told what to do at every moment then suddenly given NO instructions and having no clue what your mission is because your mission file only tells you about the plot and not what you need to get done in the moment is not fun! Running back and forth, luring an endless supply of enemies back to camp so the NPC characters can handle them is NOT FUN. Stumbling around in the dark and falling into pitfalls over and over again because you can't see is NOT FUN. This game is NOT FUN. Stealth missions where you litteraly can't see 3 feet in front of you and have no idea of the layout, right, NOT FUN. I don't care how good the novels are, METRO 2033 THE GAME is pure eyesoring, aggravating, unrewarding garbage.

Just a warning for the unprepared - there is a checkpoint saving system in this game and you cannot save when you like I've only just started to play, but I'm already finding this to be annoying, both because it's a hard game so one particular bit might find you dying repeatedly and going through a large chunk again, but also you can't revert to an earlier save in situations when you realise you're under-equipped for the next stage. I've done some web-searching and this is a very common gripe with this game. For this reason alone i regard this game as a 'fail' - I've always hated checkpoint saving systems and for this there doesn't even seem to be a cheat available. It looks like it could be a very good game also, so that makes it doubly annoying. I didn't know before I bought it and I think GOG's descriptions could be a whole lot better on things like this. Sometimes I have to do a lot of research just to find out if a game is 1st person or 3rd person etc - i realise they're not alone in this, many sites aren't very good in making this info very clear. But this is such basic information that is intrinsic to whether or not you might want to play a game and it warns a sub-heading for any game description that has to be filled in. So in my view does a game's saving system. rant over...

why is this even part of the 'ukranian' sale?.... good games in the series but if they release any more i guess i will not be buying any more.... or maybe will not purchase any games through GoG if it becomes necessary, will not support terrorism. the games are good, i highly recommend playing them but if they are claiming this is ukranian company/group then i will not have anything more to do with this game company. (this is my own opinion and my own choice, i despise this kind of nonsense, these kinds of idiotic sales have never been done before and should never have been done at all)... stupid shit like this needs to stop.
