A Very Immersive and Atmospheric FPS
This game and its successor Last Light are great games with stories full of atmosphere and drama, how you play affects the ending I've played 2033 twice but been unable to get the alternative ending. There is plenty to do, the weapons are interesting fun to upgrade and in my opinion well balanced to meet different needs. Stealth is an option and in some sections essential to survive. When in areas where a gas mask is required there is also the imperative to complete the section before your supply of filters runs out. Saves are at regular auto save points and each save overwrites the previous meaning if you screw up badly you may need to restart the whole mission however, this can be avoided as you know when an auto save takes place plus, on quitting it saves current progress if you want more saves all you have to do is quit the game after a save go to the 4A file in documents and copy the save file to a different folder yes, it disrupts the game flow and can be annoying but, it does mean you needn't have to start at the very beginning of a mission if you screw up near the end, you can replay any section in a completely different way or just replay a section you enjoyed. It's not necessary to play 2033 before Half Light but, I would recommend it as you will understand Half Light a little better. I have these 2 on Steam but, will probably re-buy them on GOG during a sale, if you enjoy this type of game I would recommend the Stalker series also available on GOG.
