The Megafortress is a radically modified B-52 bomber with advanced stealth capabilities and enough firepower to destroy heavily fortified enemy installations. It’s a huge, complex aircraft that demands attention to a dizzying array of tasks. The original Manual and a new Quick Start Guide are included with this release of the game to aid those who would seek to master control of this devastating aircraft, precisely simulated by the visionary developers of Artech Studios.
Assume multiple roles, including Pilot, Navigator, Electronic Warfare Officer, and Offensive Weapons Officer as you conduct air assaults on historic battlefronts around the world.
The first expansion, Operation Sledgehammer, adds 25 new missions in Iran and Libya, with new enemy targets including terrorist training camps, port facilities, submarines, nuclear research facilities and more. It also adds new SAMs to enemy weaponry and new ordnance to the Megafortress such as the CBU-95 FAE and Penguin MK 3 anti-ship missiles.
The second expansion, Operation Skymaster, includes 21 missions in the Korean peninsula and the Philippines, with new targets such as Chinese amphibious vessels and North Korean fat attack craft flotillas. New enemy tactical aircraft and defenses also appear, such as the Chinese HQ-61 SAM system. It also includes the ultimate challenge campaign in Dragonslayer, where the Megafortress must take down a North Korean nuclear doomsday device.

One of the most unique flight sims/games you'll ever play. While it is, at its core, a flight sim, it's primarily a stealth management and evasion sim, as you'll be spending much of your time at the various stations plotting routes around radar sites, jamming radars, and shooting at targets. It's an astounding game that everyone interested in combat flight sims should own.
Don't let my low play time fool you, I played this for hundreds of hours back in the day. The campaigns are brutal, but worth it. ;)
That said, this collection is currently incomplete. It's missing the manuals for the two expansion packs, Operations Sledgehammer and Skymaster. I've written to Ziggurat in the hopes that they will correct this grievous error.
Rare gem! You can fly a B-52 in various mission from training to complex bombing runs in areas with heavy air defence. Quite detalied for its time. The workstations are just detailed to give you the feeling of flying not just a plane but a cutting edge weapons platform. Do not forget the transponder code or the good guys will kill you! Graphics old but in this era was good. Read the manual!
Still fun to play! Worth its price.
One of the few flight sims from the early 90s that actually still feels playable in the modern age, Megafortress Collection is a pretty fun flight and systems management simulation. It succeeds by being more in the systems management than the flight simming. See, nothing from this era can hold a candle to the feel of DCS World or Falcon BMS. Falcon 3.0 or Fleet Defender are just not going to stack up to BMS or the HB F-14.
But, Megafortress stands out because it's modeling a fictional B-52 variant and offers an experience better tailored to simpler inputs. You're not going to get satisfying flight controls, but the point is really to allow the player to manage the systems load of an entire aircraft that'd otherwise be spread out over a number of stations. As a result, it still feels very playable to this day.
There's real cool factor to taking off and being a flying menace using EW and weapons to protect yourself whilst striking ground targets. Honestly, this game could prove fantastic on a mobile platform of some kind, be it laptop or some other similar device.
Expect wobbly polygons and simplistic sounds and you won't be disappointed. Fun stuff.
