A Classic shooter

I remember the days of landing on omaha beach and fighting for survival. The game then was entirely immersive, and I felt as though I was actually in the game making a difference. After playing it years later, I can honestly say the game didn't age all that well. Standards definitely changed, and the experience wasn't entirely immersive. It wasn't until the last few hours of the game that I really felt interested in the game. Even the invasion of normandy which is one of the earlier missions wasn't as interesting. The problem stems from the fact that there just isn't enough allies on screen. I mean, there is a dozen or so soldiers that take omaha beach, after 4 landers make it the first wave. It's not as amazing as it used to be. The gameplay has certainly aged, but it's actually really appealing and it makes the game quite challenging. Your health doesn't regenerate, the enemies are fairly accurate, and you can die easily. This type of gun play is something I have missed with modern shooters. The campaigns are fairly linear, although they don't appear to be so. This isn't something i at all minded, as the maps were often very large and the scenery was at least appealing to look at given the aged graphics. Overall, if you enjoy challenging gameplay, and ww2 this is the definitive game to get on gog.

A World War II History Lesson

MoH:AA was one of the games I sped more time in my life, when I had 13, 14 years, specially in Multiplayer modes.. Now I'm 30 years old... and I can feel the same adrenaline playing the campaigns, listen one of the most beautiful soundtracks ever made for a video game. Medal of Honor Allied Assault is a Master piece, and of course, a excellent lesson of History.

Has good nostalgia value, but that's it

I downloaded and played this during quarantine as part of my quest to clean up my game list. I played the main game and the expansions on wine without an issue. MoH:AA is great (5/5) and it brought back memories, but it doesn't really bring much to the table so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that didn't play it back in the day. With MoH:AA done, I moved on to the expansions. Spearhead (3/5) was alright, but a bit too linear. One annoying example I can still remember is a chapter where a tank sneaks up behind you. I shot it many times but it always ended up killing me. Turns out, I had to keep moving forward so that the tank gets blown to pieces by a bomber. There were a few more examples like this, but the game is relatively short so it was tolerable. Breakthrough (2/5), on the other hand, felt more like a chore than fun due to its length. The game is extremely hard even on medium difficulty, ammo is scarce and the enemies aim like soviet snipers. For most chapters you solve this problem by quick saving as if you're playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and moving slow and steady, but the games where you man a vehicle gun makes this impossible. There are still two chapters left, but I'm done with Breakthrough.

Main game works on W10, expansions don't

MOHAA main game gets 5/5 stars. It's stable, fun, levels are not too complex in terms of objectives and finding the way through, but not too easy to get through, controls are great, selection of weapons is the standard WWII spread (from M1911's through StG44s). Has mounted weapons, but no vehicles are available. Unfortunately Spearhead and Breakthrough, which I assume are just as great, didn't work at all, one star off for each. I have tried literally every fix on GOG's support pages and plenty others I found online, plus a lot of my own ideas, without any luck. I don't have any older versions of Windows to try out so I guess I'm out of luck. Everyone says they fine work on W7, so if you're still on that, this is a great deal.

A great pack to play this !

This game even that is released in 2002 and 2003 is still a great one. A great combat, great soundtrack and of course a great story. Medal of Honor was a great franchise, i like almost all of them, they are great and it gives you a great time. I recomend this package without any questions, i bought it from a sale, so great job GOG. The reason that i give this game 4 stars is because i didn't like to much those expansions. They are okay games, but sometimes some levels are maybe to hard and it becomes frustrating. I fully recomend the first one, and maybe you should give a try if you like this WWII theme. Good times from old EA, i kinda miss those days... By the way, after you finish the first Medal of Honor game, the 2 remaining games won't open for some reason. There are some tutorials to fix this issue, but i wanna let GOG know that they have to find a way to make all of them work. In conclusion, this is a great package and i reccomend without any problems, some great tunes from 2002 and when EA actually makes games. I hope one day they will change their plans and do great games like those back in the days...
