Big Sexy Metal Machines
Big Mech makes me happy. This game is really good. Right now i'm barely in about 30hrs and I am having a freaking blast. highly recommend just Buying the Jumpship edition on sale and then picking up all the dlc. No comment on the Shadow of Kerensky since i have not really played throught that segment of the content. PS. After playing a little bit in vanilla i highly recommend you mod it. Mods I recommend at minimum are -YetAnotherMechLab -YetAnotherMechWeapon -YetAnotherMechWeapon Clan -Remove Jumpship Animation I also recommend watching on YouTube Mechwarrior 5: Rise of the Rock Throwers by Friendfreak its a fun little video that is entertaining

I have missed Mech Warrior!
This game took be back almost 30 years to playing the older mech warrior games and getting into scraps that were way over my head. The combat is just as lumbering as I recall from these gigantic mechs. The story is a little trope heavy, but the gameplay is amazing and I love feeling of running over/through trees in the giant robots. It did take me a bit to figure out how to get my lancemates to do what I wanted, but I think that might be a flaw in my brain trying to use old commands from the late 90s games. This game sets you free early on and all but stops holding your hand after about 30 minutes to an hour.

Good Time. Could Have Been Truly Great.
There are a few milestones in PC gaming that stand out in my memory as defining my expectations and informing my experiences. The likes of Diablo, Warcraft 2, Quake 3, and MechWarrior 3. It was a game that more than those others seemed like so much MORE than just a game. It was with sadness that I saw the series lay dormant as I grew older, besides MWO which did not truly suit my taste for the franchise. MechWarrior 5 is, especially after a number of years and expansions (and a matured mod scene), within reach of the legacy. It is not flawless, but it sure the hell is MechWarrior. And I am here for it.
