great pirate game
honestly, really fun game. it looks like it was built for a gamejam competition that it lost, but it still plays better than skull and bones. Ubisoft shouldve taken some notes

Entertaining jank.
Melee combat is janky and the textures freak out sometimes in the land, but othervise a fun pirate rpg. you can blunder, board ships and capture them for your own use as well as upgrade them and your own handpicked crew. Plus its warhammer classic, so iam am biased on that front.

A 2006 game released a decade late
This game would have been barely acceptable had it been developed and released in 2006, the game engine is bug ridden and runs at a glacial pace, the graphics are several generations out of date, the towns are little more than interchangeable place holders. As a GW tabletop port its probably one of the better ones...the designs and ideas follow the tabletop but as a pirate based game this is beaten hands down by Sid Meier`s Pirates a game over a full decade older. Save the money buy the older game.

Good naval combat
The combat is good but the on foot battles get quite boring after the first raid or ship boarding. If you like mount and blade you might like this. The devs haven't abandoned it but they are working verrrry slowly on it.
