Good game but can be glitchy

This game was made in 2001 so I figured it could run on my 2007 Dell Inspiron with stock video card. But it still froze up occasionally unless I set the resolution lower. The fact that you can only save after certain long stretches made the game freeze-ups especially annoying, as you cannot skip cutscenes either, and in the end I had to play through several sections multiple times crossing my fingers that there wouldn't be a freeze up. Otherwise, a fun game with a great story and excellent character writing and voice acting.

Doesnt work

Having bought this game from GOG some time ago, I am very disappointed that it still does not work. I keep getting the sr2.exehas stopped working. Looks like I'm going to have to wait a lot longer to play the only game in this series I haven't played yet. I am using windows 764 bit. I have tried every suggestion I could find in forums everywhere, and for some reason this game will not work at all. .

Totally Unplayable

The game won't start, only a black screen. The tips from the forum don't work.

got it working on windows 10

installed game. downloaded directx wrapper program called DXGL added sr2.exe to it left everything on default saved then ran game. runs good. resolution and other setting handled through game settings ps. as a side note if your drives are pooled using windows storage don't install game to that drive will not run. must be on a none pooled drive. this is not limited to only this game have bout 26 so far that have this problem.

Let the gothic adventure continue

Warning: Install Xidi patch for modern gamepad support and use Dgvoodoo (v 2.73 as I write this) to avoid crashes and improve the graphics of this game, and run it directly from the exe in win95 compatibility mode for good measure Yes! I'm a sucker for this game, all the things I loved from the first one are back, great atmosphere, great voice acting, great music, great story, the puzzles are a little more complex than before, but nothing that will frustrate you (probably) The only thing that was kind of a let down was the lack of boss battles and the size of the map, it reeks of rushed developement since there's no need to shift between realms constantly to hunt for shorcuts or collectables But overall the game is great, the plot thickens with each step you take and as the first SR it ends in a cliff hanger that promises even more twists and turns I've heard blood omen 2 was kind of a mess plotwise, but it doesn't matter, here I go to finally experience the goth adventures of Kain and Raziel to their full extent
