As King, it is your duty to lead your people in their struggle to raise your kingdom from its humble beginnings to a position of power and prestige. War, diplomacy and a burgeoning economy are the means by which you increase your power and expand your influence. A unique Knight-management system will offer you brand new possibilities to enhance your personal strategy.
- Loyal knights blessed with special skills stand true at your side. Use them wisely in the military, the administration of your lands and in diplomacy, and then use their hard-won experience to further develop their talents as you see fit.
- Astute development of your estates and castles both satisfies your people and secures you decided strategic advantages. A suitable infrastructure can soon promote a flourishing economy. Exotic resources and relicts are spread over the game world and will reward your complete kingdom with special amenities.
- Lead your hand picked troops into battle and conquer enemy realms. Storm massive fortresses or lay siege to them and starve your enemies out or even poison the water. Defend your own realms against invading forces and use your tactical skills wisely.
- Use your feel for diplomacy when concluding trade agreements or entering into military alliances. Choose husbands for your daughters wisely, consolidating your power through marriage. Be ever on the watch for assassins and spies - and do not get caught yourself.

Old, but not quite gold
I first played Knights of Honor about 15 years ago. Back then it may have been my first grand strategy game. Now it feels like my oldest grand strategy game. While it feels like a mixture of Total War and Crusader Kings it lacks the depth of either one in the grand strategy, as well as the combat. The AI is basic, Diplomacy is basic, Combat is basiy, technology is basic. While nothing is bad, nothing is particularly good either. It is a good introduction into the grand strategy genre. But if you have already played games of that kind, Knights of Honor doesn't have much left to offer. Unless you are looking for a simpler title of that kind.

Great grand strategy game. Medieval Total War but much tighter on the army mechanics.

Medieval Kingdom building game
This game allows you to build a Kingdom. The generals have amazing upgrades and the major cities can be upgraded for financial, agricultural, and castle upgrades to balista towers and hot oil for front gates. Archers have unlimited ammo if on the walls. The provinces are randomized for resouces, so each time you play the game, its different. It is a great game overall in my opinion if you injoy the medieval period.

I wish that I had known this game when it first came out. Once you understand the mechanics, it draws you in :)
