Jagged Alliance 2

JA2 is a mix of turn based combat and real time strategy. Basically you command a unit of mercenaries that you need to supply with weapons, armor, explosives and various gadgets (and ofc with money, they dont work for free:) in order to free Arulco from their oppressive bitch queen Deidriana. Map is divided to sectors and you give your orders from there. When you are in a sector area you will be able to command your mercenaries real time but whenever you see an enemy game switches to turn based combat. This is the best part of the game because combat is great (even considering game is like 15 years old). It offers good amount of flexibility and requires tactics and balanced merc squads. Game is amazing, and i think anyone who calls themselves a gamer should play this game. If you're wondering if its anything similar to pos kalypso served as a remake i'd say f**k that game and play the original. Graphics may bother you at first but if you can overlook that i swear u'll enjoy every moment of it.

Jagged Alliance 2 has got to be one of the greatest strategy games ever made. The possibilities for playthrough are nearly limitless, as you have countless mercenaries at you disposal, and you don’t have to play the campaign in any specific order. A must have for any fan of strategy- or rpg-games!

I loved this game so much, when it was released. Many tried to copy this game in the last years, but the original is still the best. It's a shame they don't make games like this anymore.

I think the most memorable things about JA2 are the dozens of mercenary personalities and the intense tactical gameplay. While the interface to hiring new mercenaries is quick enough to use, you immediately get a sense of personality when you view the different mercenary profiles. From the description to the image of them to the phone conversation you have with them when you call them. It's an interesting beginning to what will be more fun piled on as you get to see how they respond and what they say in the midst of bullets flying and bodies falling. A lot of it's humorous. The rest of it's just sheer fondness. The tactics in this game can be rather astounding. It pulls you in. The feeling of danger intensifies it. (I always played on hard.) This game allows you to control most everything your mercenaries are going to do. Some people may not be friendly to this, but I found it to be immensely enjoyable. There're some shortcomings which I cannot mention because of review limitations, but I'll have to forgive the makers of JA2. There're so many options in the tactical gameplay and it's very difficult for a developer to think of every little thing a player might need to take full advantage of special circumstances.
