it's fun in a certain Way

I try to stay as neutral as i can be as i'm writing this Review. First of all: It's true, the Game is really bad and often makes you wonder what the developers were thinking when they developed it. I had serious problems getting this game to work on Windows XP AND Vista, until i found out how to work around the Problem of the Game not booting. Than after i got it to work (on windows 7) i learned very quickly that saving your Progress constantly is a MUST!. trust me, as soon as you encounter a brutally difficult situation, you should try to get back to the Place where you died and save before you approach it again. Also at a certain point i had to consult a walkthrough, because the Tank i was supposed to take over (or destroy? i don't remember so well) was pretty much invincible to any Kind of Damage i dealt. Also it feels like i was often wandering around searching for the next trigger to execute so i could actually progress with the story. And i think in the Level with the Prison-Tract and the Test-Tubes the game Softlocked cause i had to destroy Planks barricading a hole in the floor..... but no matter what i did i could not break those planks. So in summary, if you are patient and don't care too much about a games quality, you may actually have a decent Game for yourself with a story-line that that's actually truly unique. For Graphic-enthusiasts and those who care for quality, you may skip this one.

Read before playing!

This game is actually a masterpiece, it reminded me of project eden with better combat, but if you go into it blind you will be ripping your hair out! You need to know this is a shooter/puzzle hybrid DONT be fooled by the first two levels, those first two levels actually END like traditional shooter game levels do! But after that the levels dont exactly end anymore (well they do, but the game becomes long format like a puzzle game where you will spend a lot of time in a mansion, or a lot of time in a moving train). Nothings worse than being like "ok let me beat this third in five minutes level real quick" and it actually takes 4 hours lol. I simply did not know. But now you know! So you wont have any bad times! You can quicksave in this game thankfully Play on easy. Otherwise you will need to make 700 quicksaves and its horrible. I seriously wonder if med/hard are even possible. ROADBLOCKS The first roadblock i hit was when the game told me to avoid enemy detection for the first time, you need to go into third person mode, and hide behind the rock to the right. It will fail like 5 times dont worry. They just detect you as they are walking by. Keep trying. Then when they walk past just go prone and hug the left wall all the way until you see prisoners waiting to enter the back of a truck. Enter the back of that truck! Turrets hanging from ceilings can be destroyed! Turrets disable if you hit the red alarm buttons! If a red alarm button is glowing red, that means the turret is ON, you want them to not blink red at all. Theres a ladder in the mansion where you seemingly die from nothing while climbing down it, this is the gas part, the valve to turn off this gas is on the roof of the mansion.. On top of a giant singular gas tank thing which has a ladder. But there was two helicopters killing me constantly. I had to make like 70 savegames to get the valve shut off before the helicopter could kill me. it was brutal. Final boss just takes many hits to kill

I WW fifty years ago.

I back to this game, after twelve years and I can say. This is one of game where on start is very hard. Especially you don't now where you must go. Control in this game is awful and you must spend some ten minutes. To change all action what you do during game. History for me is not bad, but game is sometimes frustratingly. One of mission I must find some way to destroy tank. Only options is find the mines and put under tank caterpillar. Before I find the mines. I down twenty times in one moment to find mines. Climate game for me is good. Fiction I WW presented good. I like totaly all weapons in games. Implementation guns like years 2002 is very good.

Weird but fun

Antihippie complaints are false, ignore them. The setting is correct: WW1 was mostly trench based war, keeping heads down from snipers. In this game you sit in trenches (as well as other locations) and snipers have perfect sight/aim, like real snipers have. So that's complaint 1&2 out of the door! Yelling how great half life is, yet bashing this game for using the same weapon select mechanic. (Select, then fire to equip) Complaint 3 GONE! 2 Weapon carry limit is good, this is a semi-modern shooter not an arcade '90s game. 2 weapons make you think what to use and make it more realistic and difficult. COMPLAINT 4 GONE! The game has its issues, but every game has that. I find it gives a nice alternative view on the Great War. Played the PlayStation 2 version. NPCs run away from grenades and toss em back and take cover. Friendlies will kill you if you teamkill too much, they even warn you about it.

Bad but , for 29 cents a good bargin

This game is like the dollar store version of Killzone it's dated and ugly looking but it runs on anything and is 29 cents on sale if you really need to hit that fps fix, after everything else. I personally bought the game twice lol Iron Storm and World War Zero same game its like 4 hours long enemies are hit scan which can be frustrating 😅 if you need something to play on an old ass system this is a good way to do that 5 bucks or 0.29 on sale even if you deem it unplayable it ain't to bad of a loss i would say to the person that loves bad games throw it in on a Christmas sale let it sit till you got nothing to play
