Another streamlined masterpiece

Excellent game that manages to share so much 'DNA' with FTL and yet avoiding repeating any specific mechanics. Also a wonderful demonstration of how to make a great turn-based tactics game *without* random number generators influencing damage / hit probability / etc. (I'm not sure if the spawning and AI behaviour is randomised or follows some strictly deterministic rules).

Hold your wallet..

This game is a fun time sink (I fielded around 30 hours) but is flawed in the same way as basic games like rock paper scissors. Is fun for the first experience, but never evolves past the gimmick (3 pilots battling against greater numbers) and fails to show much else.

Cool at start, boring at the end.

It's a cool little strategy game, but it becomes very repetitive and boring after 3-4 hours. You can beat the game in 1 hour.

Good for players that like challenges

The game has cool pixel graphics, soundtrack and combat mechanics. You can enjoy playing the game until you realize that there are basically 5 randomly generated maps with more or less randomly generated encounters all over them, few mech squads that can be described as trio of 'Pretty good mech', 'At least you can do some damage' and 'Why do I keep you in the squad anyway?', overly expensive upgrades, unlockable pilots that you can barely care about and pointless achievement system attached into unlocks. This game has pretty much no content left after finishing the game for the first time (the ending is also a joke). Why would I bother playing the game again if there is nothing else to discover? There is basically no story to be told in this game. It's achievement grind and nothing else. Of course You can try playing the game with different squad or with a custom one. But again, the only reward here is more achievements.

Not a successor to FTL in any way

I bought this game day 1 sight unseen because I really enjoyed FTL. Beside the graphics, I don't see much in common. It really is more of a puzzler than a strategy game, and not very fun. There is a subjectivity to the gameplay that makes a lot of it not make sense. It is also very frustrating at first, I don't think they do a good job explaining how to play in the tutorial. I wish I hadn't bought the game.
