Opis


For as long as historians can remember, the ancient Dracul bloodline has ruled over the mysterious lands of Warmont – Realm of the Bloodthrone. Inside the secluded borders of this land, an unholy court of vampires feast on the blood of their human subjects. And, as long as they give it willingly, a vicious peace between mortal and immortal is kept alive under the watchful eye of the vampiric rulers - Vlad and Cecilia Dracul, forever bound by eternal love.



To the east, a cold wind blows over the desolate planes of Mourterra – The Land of the Dead. No humans live on this barren and cursed soil, and yet the land is far from deserted. Horrifying remnants of the ancient and corrupt Nosfernus bloodline stalk here in silence, patiently waiting for their chance to once again plague the lands of the living.



Meanwhile, in Esain - The Frozen North, another bloodline of vampires resides in solitude and isolation from the world. decent game, unsure it's worth the price

This game is like a blend of Heroes of Might and magic III & civilization. It's turn based and u need to make armies for your hero. You then move it around the map, claiming and improving different spots on the map. There are 3 "factions" you can choose from, altho in the campaign mode u can only start with 1, and the other 2 unlock as you progress. That being said, the campaign mode isn't horribly lengthy with only 4 scenarios per faction. The story is pretty meh. There's a sandbox mode where u can choose your faction and starting map, reminiscent of civ. There is also a "tech tree" that you have to spend points to unlock. However, the tree has no dependencies, and you only need a single line leading to something to obtain it. So, I find myself skipping many things to get deeper, more useful skills. The AI is so-so. it doesn't really use much in the way of strategy and just tends to charge head first into combat. It was programmed with enough intelligence to stay just out of ranged units attack range and then move in next turn, but that's about it. Monsters will get stuck on terrain in the battle map sometimes and u can just kill them from afar while it runs back and fourth. The graphics are definitely dated, which doesn't bother me so much, but it may bother some. The thing about the graphics that DID bug me, is I got a strange graphical glitch (multiple times) similar to the wierd floating spastic blobs in fallout 3, but MUCH bigger and saving and loading the game didn't fix it, u just have to live with the eye strain. Overall, I think it's a decent game, but for it's current price tag of $32, i feel like I'm overpaying for what i"m getting. I've spent less on games I've enjoyed more, but it's not a horrible game, and it's def got the whole vampire vibe to make it stand out from similar games.

Good, atmospheric TBS

This is a very atmospheric turn based strategy game. It is inspired from the vampires mythology, with bats, wolves, witches, vampires fighting against each other, against other fantastic beasts and against humans. Blood is the main currency in this game, and with it you can cast powerful spells like healing your army, recruiting troops... I love the little details from this game, for example you can recruit troops from villages with the condition that the village has at least some population. When you are in a village, you can choose to sacrifice the villagers and drink their blood to replenish your blood pool, or you can recruit some of the villagers into your army. But you cannot do both. The game looks familiar in many ways: it kinda looks like a modern board game (with cards to play, and a board with predefined spaces on it), but it is also a classic TBS video game (the cards are spells that you cast) in the veins of Age of Wonders and Heroes of Might and Magic. If you like thesee kind of games and the vampires mythology, you will surely like Immortal Realms Vampire Wars. The battles are good and strategic, you can use flanking, cast spells... The battle map is not huge, but it is enough for you to create flanking strategies, to force you to protect your archers. You also care about your units, and you don't want to loose them, as they evolve and get better. It's been a while since I have played such an atmospheric pc game, thank you developers, and keep up the good work!

Overview: There are 3 playable undead factions, each having a campaign with story elements. There is a sandbox mode. There are action "cards" to be played at both tactical and strategic levels. You get to pick 3+ cards (strategic) from a random draw every few turns. Blood is the coin of the realm for the strategic level, mana is used in battles. Tactical cards(spells/abilities) are assigned to the lord and can be upgraded/specialized. Campaigns: The campaigns are divided into 4 "missions", that unlock as you complete the previous. The 3 campaigns are locked as well. Campaigns have custom conditions/rules. There is NO difficulty adjustment in Campaigns, There is a "puzzle" element at the strategic level that adds to the difficulty. Tactical: There are no impactful random elements at the tactical level. Units move based on initiative. Most units have special attack/action with a cooldown. When you attack the expected results are displayed, I have seen some variance here, but very little. Maps are square grids with blocking terrain, and some special elements. There is NO diagonal movement, although some units can attack diagonally. Before a battle begins (at the strategic level) you may have the option to auto resolve. Conclusions: The Sandbox mode is fun, difficulty and victory conditions can be customized to suit your taste. All undead factions are available to play. The AI is functional but relies on numerical and qualitative advantage. There is a tutorial and in-game glossary, no manual. The ability to adjust the difficulty in campaigns would have made them more accessible, effectively gating them for all but the most patient. The randomness of cards offered can have a large impact on play in the early stages. 3 stars, No manual and campaigns being gated means MANY customers will only have access to half the game. For shame devs :(

An Age of Wonders expansion pack

I don't want to bully Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars, it's a perfectly acceptable mid-tier entry. Yet the core conceit is that it's exclusively focused on vampires and the undead, where other comparable franchises like AoW, Disciples or Eador have vampires... and also other stuff. That trend describes Important Relics: Volkswagen Shores perfectly, actually. AoW and Eador have four tiers of units, IR:VW only has three tiers. Other games have up to a dozen races, this game has only three, four if you count humans. In the AoW overworld, you can upgrade units, customize them, summon new ones and cast spells, while in Infrared Rattles: Verifier Worgs you have cards which only allow limited customization and spellcasting. The only thing Intricate Ranges: Volatile Warbles has over similar titles is that it focuses rather strongly on battles which cannot be auto-resolved. There is some interesting stuff there, I dare say I enjoyed these battles more than in any other game in the genre. But those battles were never the appeal for me, I was always more of an auto-resolve guy. The story perfunctory, but not without charm. Very WC3ish with the cutscenes and the style of voice acting. People point at the price, but I'm pretty sure it's fair: AoW sold it's expansions for like 20$ at first. If you add the cost of making a completely new game, new graphics etc, 35-40$ is perfectly fair. I'd say this is 3.5 stars. I was going to give 4, but little annoyances in the interface knocked it down to 3. Recommended for fans of the genre who want a new variation on the same old stuff.
