A slavic patriots nostalgia

A great boomer-shooter set in 1980s Czechoslovakia. While it might seem too brown to some younger people this is what communism looked like back in the previous century. Game is great, its fast, precise and the ambience is top notch. There is loads of little interactive details and the second of 3 episodes was just released. If you like faster shooters, familiar yet unique enemy design and creepy atmosphere, this is the game for you. Čest práci, soudruzi! o7

Soviet Quake

I really wish I could describe game in other words but that's just what it is. :) If you remember anything from this era, this game will give you quite a dose of nostalgia. Gameplay reminds me heavily of Quake, same with some enemies. Despite this, it is not just a copy. Game has its own unique atmosphere and plays really great. Even gave few jumpscares... (But then again, so did to me Age of Empires 2). Sounds and music set a great mood and frankly, thats all I need in a game like this.

Quake in Pripyat

Somewhat post-nuclear catastrophe horror vibe on one hand and raw meaty surreal action from Quake I on the other. With bits of dark totalitarian aesthetics mixed with 'plague' epidemic and eery sound design. Very cool, very 'dusk'ish' in some aspects but still feels quite unique and outstanding. No too much from the story point of view, hopefully that will be improved once full version is released. Not asking for a novel here, but still some indirect narative would be nice to have. In terms of gameplay - very energetic, filled with fast paced combat with quite a varying zoo of enemies. Once you get enough ammo it becomes a bit less challenging even on hard level, but maybe that was me abusing the save/load system :) Definitely worths it's money, cannot wait for the full release! A must-have for any old-school FPS lover. PS. Unfortunately already bought this on Steam while it was on sale, but hopefully GoG version is not completely different ;)

So much detail

This is a really great and challenging shooter that seems to take heavy inspiration from Quake, i.e., brown. The enviroments are much more detailed and "realistic" than anything you'd find in Quake, and there is an insane amount of enviromental interaction. I found a piano where you could interact with each key individually with each one playing a different note, and you could change the tone of the piano to give it different sounds. You can shoot out most lightbulbs, read random books on the floor, flush toilets, break most items to find ammo, it's incredibly impressive and I love how much attention to detail there is in the world. The enemy design is amazing with each enemy looking incredibly distinct and a lot of them seeming a bit off in what I'm sure was a purposeful way to give them more janky retro charm, for example, the grenade launcher guys almost sound like pigs which is weird but it's very distinct so you always know when one is around. If you like retro style shooters you have to play this game, I'm not far into it but I'm guessing it'll be up there with Dusk for me as a great modern retro style shooter.

Definitely the gem of this year!

First I decided to try the demo. But I liked it so much - that for the first time in my life I decided to buy a game in development. And I didn't regret it! I went through the currently available 2 episodes. And, the game reminded me at the same time of such games as Doom, Quake, Half-Life. And this is very good! Despite the recognizable gameplay elements, this game has its own specific atmosphere. I recommend this game to everyone! Not only for those who have found the classics, but also for those who have recently plunged into the ocean of 3D shooters.
