One of the best Hitman games
While the newer Hitman games have many things going for them I still find myself enjoying Blood Money more. This game just was everything a Hitman game was supposed to be. It manages to make you feel like the locations are bigger than they really are and as though there are so many options. The newer games feel more limited even though they probably aren't and the story just doesn't feel as important. Blood Money was all about experementation and easter eggs. While you can tell not just from graphics that it's an older game it still holds up in many ways.

Beware of hotfix patch!
While this is one of the best Hitman games in my opinion, beware of "patch_hitman_blood_money_1.2_(27639)_to_1.2_hotfix_(41792)". On my system, the patch causes - the game to crash after the tutorial level - save location to change to "Hitman Blood Money Demo" folder According to some other people, the saves are also incompatible between the two versions, though I could not test this because of the crash. I recommend everyone to NOT apply the patch!

What makes Blood Money fantastic isn’t just its variety of weapons or disguises, but its open-ended level design. Each mission is a sandbox puzzle with countless ways to reach your target. Whether it’s poisoning a drink, tampering with stage equipment, or donning the costume of a party entertainer to sneak past guards, the freedom to experiment makes every playthrough feel unique. The notoriety system added a clever layer of consequence: go in guns blazing and you’ll be recognized in later missions. But play it smart, and you stay in the shadows. It’s a subtle but brilliant mechanic that rewards players who value stealth and strategy. Graphically, while dated by today’s standards, the environments still feel alive—from Mardi Gras crowds in New Orleans to the opulence of a Las Vegas casino. Jesper Kyd’s hauntingly atmospheric soundtrack ties it all together, heightening the tension and immersion.
