Heroes of Might and Magic® 4: Complete

At least at the time, people hated HOMM4 because it wasn't HOMM3, but like Dark Souls 2, I think both the game and its likeability improved significantly. Probably the most dramatic change is the inclusion of Heroes as active participants in battles, which I can understand being controversial, but there is something viscerally satisfying about watching your heroes grow from squishy liabilities to solo murder machines. 9.5/10 - keep coming back.

Still fun! Still runs well. I come back to this game every winter.

I know most Heroes fans are into Heroes 3, but I cannot be sold on it. The ability to keep multiple heroes per army is priceless and that makes the game infinitely better. After so many years, I still love it.

While heroes 3 definetely has better mod support and is in better shape than fourth part it's not a bad game as some think, I always return to this game for different experience whenever I get bored of heroes3
