Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete

My husband and I used to play it while we were dating, and we still play this versions the most.

This is the best game ever made. There's a reason a game from almost 30 years ago is still being played and supported by passionate fans. Its graphics are timeless. Its music iconic. The depth of gameplay in unbelievable. You can play this game casually and have a ton of fun, or you can go pro, spend hundreds of hours and still be humiliated online, but still have a ton of fun. This game is a lightning in a bottle. Many imitators tried but none came close to Heroes 3. It's chess level of classic. Heroes 3 will be played hundred of years from now. We'll have Bobby Fischers of Heroes 3 and the Netflix of the future will make a Queen's Gambit version of Heroes 3. There's no excuse no to play it. It's cheaper than a hot dog and runs on every computer cheap you can find. Why are you even reading this review?

Pretty much everyone knows how great this game is --- it's been out for a while and people still play it ---more than even the later versions --- to put it simply, it is a classic. So I'm just writing this to remind people that the replay/play possiblities are endless by using the very robust and easy to use map randomizer. There are enough options and so on to make amazingly excellent and epic skirmishes with a few clicks of a mouse. This is the real deal.

Heroes of Might and Magic I was a nice game but it lacked a lot and felt kind of empty. HoMM2 raised the bar significantly but HoMM3 made it even further. Excellent heroes features system, artifacts finally reflect body parts of the hero (in HoMM2 you could e.g. wear two helmets), extremely rich maps where there are no empty and irrelevant places - all of this makes the game a really wonderful strategy. I still often play it (usually with Heroes 3 HD mod - support for 1440x900 resolution rocks!) even though I have HoMM4 on a shelf and tried HoMM5. Maybe MMH6 will finally meet HoMM3's greatness but this game really survived the test of time. In HoMM3 you spend time on strategy, not on looking for resources hidden behind the mountains as in HoMM5... I recommend it to everyone looking for a great strategy, not necessarily with high system requirements.

This is simply a perfect game. And I'm not really the type of guy who's into those old school strategy rpg games. But this is simply so good that it would be madness not picking it up. It can offer you thousands of hours of fun. LAN games with friends is possible and you can even make your own maps with a really great and simple editor that anybody can use. Buy this game, seriously... 5/5 stars!!
