Heroes of Might and Magic® 2: Gold

I tried to like this game. I really did. I enjoy the rest of the real Might and Magic series, but this thing...no. It's got a learning curve like a smooth vertical slope. I do not enjoy having to restart the tutorial over and over and over at a lower and lower difficulty, just to have the computer thrash the hell out of me every time. It does not give you a chance to learn what you're supposed to do before it starts sending vastly overpowered armies at you. No fun at all. I heard so much about how great this game is, and it was all lies.

Brings an old gamer back

I don't know how objective I can be, this was one of my favourite games as a kid. I keep going back to it and it holds up. Honestly, I don't know how much of it is just nostalgia, but I genuinly prefer this to Heroes V and newer. It has the right mix of complexity and straight forwardness for me. The music and graphics just pull you in. Old 2D graphics always look better to me than old 3D graphics.

I love Heroes 2. As long as nobody ghost cheeses, this is a great multiplayer game to duke it out for an afternoon.
