Before man climbed down from the trees to shop in megastores and drink cappuccino, before the Earth wadded itself into a cool blue ball, before the Moon even existed, there was the Island. The Island, a massive fragment of a long-lost planet, hurtling blindly through space. Upon the surface of this paradise wanders the giant, Kabuto. Little does Kabuto know that the Island was home to others before him. In the oceans, there dwells a matriarchal race called the Sea Reapers. In their pride, they created Kabuto, as a defense against intruders. But Kabuto became conscious of himself, his loneliness, his pain - and he went berserk.
Space castaways, the Meccs piloted their ship through space, looking for their missing friends. If you haven’t guessed already, they ended up on the Island. Faced with yet another unscheduled layover while on their way to Planet Majorca, the Meccs decide to make the best of their temporary home. Just their luck - the natives are already embroiled in their own little war, and the Mecc visitors are most unwelcome!
Meccaryns... Sea Reapers... Kabuto... One island isn’t big enough for the three of them.

Giants is a fun little game that has you mostly commanding a meccan named Baz who after accidentaly landing on a hostile planet instead of ending up partying in Majorca has to Find the rest of his team and find a way off this planet. Along the way he meets several helpful characters including an old grouchy Smartie named Borjoyzee, Yan and the Sea Reaper Delphi. The game is mostly a Third-Person Shooter but has 2 RTS style missions and overall is a great experience from beggining to end.
Expect to get 10-20 hours of entertainment out of this purchase, unless you can find some friends to play on a LAN - the single-player campaign is extensive and humorous, but replayability is fairly low.
Giants has aged well looks good with any modern PC (minor graphical glitches aside). Even though some basic RTS elements are introduced, the focus is largely on the action.
The game, characters and plot are quite enjoyable despite the slightly frustrating game mechanics and controls. This is a refreshing change from recent games, but doesn't leave much reason to go back and play it again once you've completed the campaign.
The only major let-down during the campaign, the first time through, are four repetitive jetski racing levels during that take about 10 minutes each to complete.
Też nie rozumiem tego że dubbingu nie ma a gra jest bo takie głupie jest posunięcie że grę mogą sprzedwać na gogu ale już bez polskiego to w ogóle sensu nie ma
Just a great, quirky game that fortunately runs very well on my Win 10 computer. Be sure to patch it to the latest version (1.501) to enable the DX9 renderer and squash a lot of bugs.
This game bears more similarity to MDK than Sacrifice, but it has a bit of Sacrifice in it - both games were developed by Shiny. Is it then a coincidence that Giants: Citizen Kabuto (GCK) was developed by a studio set up by ex-Shiny devs? Not at all.
The story is set on an alien world that consists of tropical islands travelling through space, with various strange creatures inhabiting them.
The gameplay is divided in three major parts:
1) TPS (third person shooter) as a member of a spacefaring race of Meccaryns who stumbles on the strange island world of GCK. There is a lot of shooting and jetpack jumping. Then there are RTS elements consisting around building a base by small big-headed humanoids called "smarties", which are collected and placed on your base, where they build equipment shops for you, in order to assist you in your mission.
2) TPS as a Sea Ripper princess Delphi, who casts spells and shoots magical arrows at the enemies, as well as RTS element surrounding the base building aspect of the game.
3) Walking and stomping everything as Kabuto, a giant monster who destroys the enemis with its might and eats them to restore health.
The game features quite advanced graphics for its time, and a lot of people who played this game originally reported lags using outdated equipment. Nowadays this should not be a problem, but a few minor graphical bugs may appear.
Eerie tropical sound and atmosphere add to the game's otherwise fun and cartoonish character, with lots of black humor thrown into the mix.
There is a multiplayer capability but I never tested it myself.
It's a strange mix of different genres with a challenging campaign, fun story and lots of action - 5/5
