freespace has been a game that i just can't live without...okay mabye thats a bit to much, but regardless, it's a game i've played over and over. the only oghter space simlulator fighter that i can think of that comes close to it would have to be its prediceser(...i spelled that wrong) freespace 2. i just hope there are more games like it comeing out

No Joystick on Mac
The game looks really Really good. Unfortunately if you are a Mac user you'll have to use a mouse as the game has no Joystick capability. It's there in the options menu but it can't be turned on and playing this game with a mouse - sucks beyond belief!

Oh yes, baby.
This made a huge impact when it came out back in the days. The story was really exciting, and the dogfights intense. And these huge battleships which you could blow to pieces with a couple bombing runs.... so satisfying. And even today, the graphics are somewhat okay. Only surpassed by Freespace 2.

Freezes Win11 all compatibility settings
This game freezes my Win 11 (just after it resizes and everything looks huge). After six ctrl-alt-del restarts, and five different compatibility tries (from Win 95 to Win 8) I'm giving up. Pity, but I'm quite happy with Tachyon right now, which worked right outta the box, so cbb with this game. Maybe one day I'll read this game's forums, there's a lot of mods etc. for the FS games, FS2 in particular. 2 stars (should be 1 star really) for the possiblity that fans can make this work, looks good in the pics.

I got it in an 1995 IBM computer pack or bunbble. liked it then like it now, whish you would release MechWarrior 4 -Mercenaries, Black Knight - Expansion Pack !
