No updates for 2021 yet

April 20, 2021. There have been no updates for 4 months. The game is okay, but not very well optimised. They got funding money from Canadian gov, price of $43 Aussie dollars, are really good at C++ but it seems like the programmers have other better paying jobs that take priority. I put a question on the forums, and a 'community rep' ie not a dev answered and said it was okay that the game ran hot on my PC as my PC was designed to handle that. If you're new to the genre get Tropico 4. If you love the genre wait until it's finished or under $20

Recently this game has become much mor

Why should you buy this game? It is a fully simulated city building strategy game. The villagers actually go to the market to eat. The material is acutally mined and move across the map by actual villagers. Villagers actually go to work, take breaks, go home, go to buy clothes, etc. Your job is to place the buildings, assign the villagers jobs, buy terriority, manage your military, manage trade relations, customize your city, etc. The game has actual supply chains from the raw material to the finished products. Plus, this game keep it fun without heavy micromanaging Recently (update 3.6 on July, 14, 2020) this game has become much more fun to play and in-depth. Some features are still in their early works like the military system. Although, the primary features such as the actual village building and the supply chains are well fleshed out. The UI is still scheduled for it's major overhaul, but it is defintely useable today. This game has a very bright future. Even in its current state, this game is definitely my favorite city building strategy game. The supply chains are realistic and acually make sense. You must build your village from just a village center to a sprawling metropolis. It gives you plenty of freedom to build how you like. How It Plays: First you start by choosing your starting terriority, then you place your village center. Next you must place buildings, assign villagers jobs, and begin harvesting your local resources. Next, you build more building to convert those raw material to useful material such as stone to polished stone and wood into plankets. Then, you begin taking those finished material into working products like swords, clothes, churches, and everything your villagers need to thrive. Eventually you will look at your village and see a metropolis that expands across the entire map and realize you have sunken dozens of hours building your perfect village.

Potential is there for sure

An enjoyable game even in its current state. A lot of things are obviously rough as it is an in dev game, but the core mechanics offer a good new take on the genre. There is a huge amount of potential here.

Good mechanics, but unstable

Played this in alpha, about a year ago, and it showed promise. I installed it yesterday and the updates it got in the last year are awesome. Good mechanics, good progression, good tutorial through the missions system. But once my city become a bit larger it started to crash - early to midgame, I'm not talking about hundreds of villagers, but over 50. I started a new map and 3-4 hours in I got the same issue. Autosave helps, but I'm not willing to reload every 30 min. And it appears to happen more often the more your city advanced. I'll probably wait another couple of months before picking it up again, follow the patch-notes for fixes and update my review accordingly.

Foundation shows potential

A Game I've been waiting for. It reminds me a lot of "The Settlers" Strong Colors; Cute Models. A lot of potential in here. The mechanics so far are quite okay, help and tutorial is raw, but hey - "inDev" The Price (29,99€ in GER) is a bit high, but it's totally worth it. I reached all of the reachable buildings and Items within 16 hours. Monument System is very interesting. Keep it up dear devs!! Foundation is going to be a very fun game about building an Medieval Kingdom. Totally redommended :-)
