Absolutely classic brawler racing game

Perfect brawler raceing game, the best progression FlatOut series have seen so far. Absolutely recommended for any racing game fan - arcade, simulation, vehicular combat, virtually anyone! What is cool -Outstanding crashes, the best I have ever seen in a video game -Excellent driving model, combining fast arcade accessibility with great physics model and some nice simulation touches (especially on RWD cars) -Constantly challenging, due to smart catch up and distinct AI personalities (mostly composed of aggressive maniacs) -Nice array of good looking cars divided to three classes -High variety of fully interactive, object-packed tracks, some of which are truly admirable -Plays fantastic in multiplayer mode -Loads of bonus races and events (figure-of-8, aerobatics, destruction derbies, etc.) What is not -Could sport a little more tracks and cups (you can complete all of them in a couple of hours) -Very detailed physics engine combined with large number of on-track objects makes it difficult at times to focus on racing, which can ignite frustration (especially on certain tracks) -No licensed cars I played around 15 hours of FO2 combined on PS2 and PC, and even more of FO:Ultimate Carnage (which is a technologically-upgraded FO2/remake for 360 and PC with some additional elements) and FO:Head On! (a PSP FO2 conversion with some elements from Ultimate Carnage).

Best race-game for lan parties

The simplicity of this game is still unrivaled. Even people that never played it can get behind the keyboard and start competing in a matter of minutes. If you have a friend that says "I suck at computer games", he can still have fun playing this. That's why still the game of choice for my lan parties. The successors, Flatout: Ultimate Carnage, and Flatout 3 have some stupid account requirements to play online, that make it insanely hard to do a quick setup and just play with friends. I guess there aren't many games that fill such need for mindless car destruction. Plenty of people were still playing multiplayer when the GameSpy servers were taken off less than one year ago! BTW You can still play multiplayer online, just use GameRanger to create a room and start it. You'll find people to play with you too ;)

Features many racing games are missing

This game raised the bar in many aspects of racing gaming: - diverse, largely destructible environments: no "brick wall post boxes" on the roadside! - diverse, largely destructible cars: stock cars, racing cars, off-roads, busses, trucks… all of them shreadable down to the chassis frame! - wide courses with occasional alternative routes (often shorter but harder to tackle) - very high fun factor, especially in multiplayer, hilarious ragdoll physics: force a frient off the road and see his driver flying past your car! - party game modes based on shooting your driver out of the car, thus playing bowling, darts etc. - fast but nonetheless beautiful graphics The only thing FO2 lacks like so many other racing games is AI opponents in multiplayer. Apart from that, I would call it the perfect fun racer.

One of the most fun racers...

... ever made. Oh, the countless hours of pure joy I have spent with this game. Plenty of mods available to make it even more awsome than it already is (get customcar and the singleraceoptions mods). 50 lap Crash Alley anyone? :)

Hours of fun, a must for any LAN party!!

The graphics are very nice and the physics of the cars, driving, wrecking, racing are excellent. And don't forget about the stunts and demolition derbies!! Ah, so many hours of fun where do I begin? This is really one of the best racing and demolition games I've seen in a very long time.
