Great character devlopment.
People seem to jump on the bandwagon for hating on "walking simulators," but I actually really like them. Lower action, character-driven atmospheric games were exactly what I fell in love with way back in the 90's with Myst, Journeyman Project, etc. Despite everyone's moaning about conwoman Anita Sarkeesian being thanked in the credits, it seems to be a bit of self-policing, not direct involvement. That said, the game is still at the head of the class. The graphics were interesting- not quite realistic, but not quite as plastic-looking as The Long Dark. The effects, especially the fire and ash- really gave this game what it needed to go over the top. And I can't praise the voice actors enough. They were phenomenal, and at the end I felt a mix of emotions that really meant something. So, go ahead and buy the game. I typically view worth as based on cost vs content, but even at only 4-5 hours of gameplay for $18, I still recommend it. It was as worthwhile as buying a good book, and I enjoyed it.
