F.E.A.R. Platinum

A great and unique horror shooter that still has things to brag about in the modern generation. Worth going back to and playing through at least once if you haven't before. Horror elements are well executed and the gunplay is adequate (rough by modern standards) but the places you fight in and the enemies do a lot to make up for that.

the game itself is not that innovative, but it shines a lot in its concept and atmosphere, the slow motion feature is fantastically well done, the shootings are frantic but also tactical, the scenarios are not very creative, but they fit perfectly into the plot, thanks to gog, i was finally able to play this game and i will possibly play its sequels, i highly reconmmend it for fans of fps and action games, the psychological horror part pleased me, the illusions and dark scenes are a good break from the action, the tension in these moments is quite convincing, but i confess that sometimes it is quite weak when it happens too quickly, overall it is an atmospheric experience that borders on an action film with touches of science fiction.

Still aftr all these years is just grweat gun play mixed with celver level design so well made it makes you think your really going up agaisnt a real AI.

I liked the game in the sense that it was fun to play. Sometimes scary, but most of the time frustrating. I liked it because the story was good but in the end i didn't quite get the story. Did I kill the guy we were chasing? What was with the hospital I was born in? In the end it was a little hard to understand but upuntil that point it was great.

Jestem wielkim fanem Condemned Monolithu, ale to F.E.A.R. stanowi najlepsze połączenie fpsa z horrorem w historii gier wideo. Dzięki czemu jest to absolutna czołówka w tych dwóch gatunkach, a tytuł ma niemal dwadzieścia lat na karku. Wcielamy się tutaj w żołnierza jednostki pierwszego kontaktu, który ląduje w wyznaczonym miejscu misji, gdzie witają go zastępy wrogo nastawionych i uzbrojonych po zęby najemników. Żeby tego było mało, to od czsu do czsu główny bohater ma koszmarne wizje, które powodują gęsią skórkę. F.E.A.R. ma kapitalną ściężkę dźwiękową, którą spokojnie można postawić obok takich klasyków jak Resident Evil lub Silent Hill. Równie dobrze wypada w tej produkcji strzelanie, a wszystko to dzięki bardzo dobremu silnikowi fizycznymu, który pozwala m.in. na bicie szyb, czy przygważdżanie przeciwników do ścian czy sufitu. Wśród uzbrojenia znajdziemy tu oczywiscie pistolet, karabin czy strzelbę, jednak moimi ulubionymi pukawkami jest gwoździownica Penetrator i broń cząsteczkowa, która stapia wrogów po celnym strzale. Świetnym pomysłem było też dodanie przez twórców opcji spowolniania czasu, bez którego niemal nie da się tu wyżyć, bo nasi przeciwnicy są smiertelnie niebezpieczni w większej grupie nawet na normalnym poziomie trudności. Tytuł posiada także dwa rozszerzenia fabularne, których akcja rozgrywa się zaraz po zakonćzeniu wątku głównego
