The Good, the Bad and the Nuclear
I played this game when it was released in 2015, I'm a huge fan of Fallout series. The latest instalment of the main series is a really good game with some flaws. THE GOOD Fallout 4 is a really fun game, it improves the combat system, has some really cool power armors and an innovative weapon crafting system for the series, start really good, with some cool missions and like other Fallout game it offers toons of content! THE BAD It's a game that was released after New Vegas, Bethesda creates big games, but they not so good at the role playing aspect, thing that Obsidian understand very well. The dialog system is oversimplified. And the settlements could be a pain in the ass. The story is there, but is on the bland side, I remember play this game after The Witcher 3 and I think that kind of ruined the experience for me. THE NUCLEAR As a typical Bethesda game, bugs are part of the experience, the game crash often. Still is a recommended game for everyone, you will get a lot of content, several hours of fun and many many laughs. It worth the price and a new update is coming in a few days! That maybe could help to solve some of the performance issues!

Glad to Have It on GOG
While I was aware of Fallout as far back as the Interplay original on a roommate's computer, and knew of the earlier Bethesda games as my sons had played them on console, I count myself lucky to have played this title first among the others: It spared me any unfavorable comparisons with the arguably better entries in the series, and allowed me to enjoy it thoroughly. Years later, I've found myself coming back to old saves, playing around with my settlements, trying to build a better future... above ground (Vault 88 not withstanding). I already owned it on Steam, but had all the other games thru GOG and am glad to add this entry to my DRM-free collection, as well. Especially given the turmoil that the recent "Next Gen" update seems to be causing with people's mods, the ease with which I can block / revert game updates on GOG vs Steam is much appreciated. Initially, I was a little bummed that the Next Gen update hadn't come to GOG's FO4 GOTY when it went Live elsewhere, but after reading some horror stories associated with it, I'm glad they've held off for now!

Works on Linux Distro via Lutris
I would have written this yesterday but I spent too long breaking out of vault 111 and stripping down Sanctuary, just like old times. I have a Debian based Linux OS and use Lutris to run ".exe" games. With Runner: lutris-GE-Proton8-13-x86_64, it worked out of the box! That said, as an old habit I run borderless windowed mode at full res instead of full screen. I have not tried full screen. I cannot wait to experience again the absurdity that is Nuka World!

Solid though a bit lifeless
I enjoyed this Fallout iteration, its very large game world, has an improved combat system and an attempt for a varied story line with some options. To me it is still a must play that falls short of the high standard. My biggest issue is the move away from RPG and storytelling. Almost every encounter is a combat encounter, the more interesting level and narrative designs of earlier Fallout games is lost, a lot of radial quest and respawns make it feel like you accomplish nothing. Some of the3 endgame quests like the raiders quest contradict the core gameplay of the majority of the game. To me this is fallout amusement park and not fallout the RPG. Its a giant repetitive game for no reason filled with mundane game play an d a boring open world as a result. Its not horrible. You will not waste your money by purchasing this. It just does not live up to the previous games in the series.
