Fallout

Extremely solid game that needs a bit of time getting used to it, played for the first time in 2015 when I was like 16 and still remember how impressed I was with the depth of the gameplay. Wish I could play this game for the first time again. By far the best fallout, not even fallout 2 could match the feel of this masterpiece

This game's story telling is surprisingly charming and expressive. Fine antagonists, cool interactions, and an aesthetic yet to be topped, most likely since it really captured an entire aesthetic the sequels never aimed towards. Combat has some low points but is overall satisfying, I especially liked the ability to go wherever and do whatever as long as you either acknowledge the water chip's time limit or prioritize it. I never felt like the game prevented me from doing whatever I wanted exploration wise, despite the fact I was almost always under-equipped. The game isn't without problems however, it seems like if unpatched, the GOG version of the game has no option to save certain factions because of their dependencies on cut content, which is a critical blow to any professional review of this version. I am aware the game is censored, and I do not endorse censorship on any level (especially not the petty kind this version engages in), but I feel like the negative reviews are blowing it out of proportions. This isn't even comparable to the more notable cases in other games and literally has no effect on any of your playthroughs, as it removes children NPCs, none of which are crucial to the game or its story. Now that you're aware of the cut content's consequences seeping into a game without it, and the censorship of the version, I feel you are freer to make up your mind in regard to a purchase, just know that the voice acting, setting, and freedom of exploration are phenomenal and more than make up for it even when unpatched. 10/10

Nie wiem co za osoba wpadła na genialny pomysł, aby powycinać pewne rzeczy z tej gry czy pozamieniać pewne nazwy, ale... Fallout to nadal gra-fenomen, która oczarowała moje pokolenie, o którym może świadczyć fakt, iż nie grałem poza nią w żadną inną odsłonę serii. Do tej pory, bo zaraz sięgam po "dwójeczkę". Mamy XXII wiek. Świat po nuklearnej zagładzie. Krypta numer 13, w której żyją ocalali po końcu świata. Jedna z wielu na terenie byłych stanów zjednoczonych Ameryki. Mija kilka generacji ludzi i coś niedobrego dzieje się z urządzeniem filtrującym wodę. Ktoś musi wyjść na zewnątrz, odnaleźć inny moduł urządzenia, być może w innej Krypcie i... przeżyć. Bo świat Fallouta to brud. Pustkowia, na których hula wiatr i zmutowane zwierzęta. I ludzie, którzy nie mieli tyle szczęścia, co ty wybrańcu. Nie zdążyli dostać się do bezpiecznego schronienia. Utworzyli nowe komuni i starają się zyć. I są ludzie zdrowi, ale także zmutowani na skutek radiacji. A to nie wszystko. Mutanci. Potwory. Często są nimi inni 'Normalsi'. Świat Fallouta to świat drapieżników. Tu często musisz użyć argumentu siły. Jest tu klimat, który zachęca do poznawania zakamarków tych ruin po dawnym świecie. Jest świetna fabuła, która broni się po 24 latach od premiery (Jezu, ale jestem stary...). Warstwa wizualna już się mocno postarzała, ale to szczegół. Nie po to sięga się po stare gry. Lubicie Fallouta 3, New Vegas czy 4? Sięgnijcie po ich protoplastę. Bez tego nie byłoby wiele współczesnych rozwiązań w RPG. No i przy okazji zobaczycie jak kiedyś robiło się gry. Bez barier. Bez nadęcia. Bez cenzury. Ja swoją wersję Fallout sprzed lat mam na płytce. Mam też starego lapka i jak będę chciał to tam sięgnę. Genialna gra i tylko trochę szkoda, że w czasach, kiedy nadmierna "tolerancja" doprowadza do takich paradoksów, że w jej imię doprowadza się do nietolerancji, takie kreacje jak ta na tym cierpi. Niemniej nie oceniam wersji, a tytuł. A Fallout to moje top 100 i raczej w pierwszej dwudziestce.

The game is old, but the story and concepts of this game remain fresh. When I first played this game (way back when it first came out) I thought I was primarily interested in playing as a warrior. I didn't realize I was putting equal amounts of energy into my character's dialogue abilities until, in the final boss confrontation, I managed to actually talk him down from his evil ways and convince him to give up his fight ... my warrior was a warrior-diplomat and I ended the game peacefully. Absolutely floored me how much the decisions you make in the game influence the possibilities you could go down. The factions you can join and the end stories you generate are reflected by your gameplay. Still one of the most satisfying game experiences I've ever had.
