The game was first prototyped as an award-winning and much-loved student project. The original team has reformed and expanded as Fireplace Games to increase the scope, sweep and grandeur of En Garde!
This game its a very solid "arena" game, about swordsmanship, revolution and community. Very lighthearted adventure, that sounds like a TV family movie that you enjoyed as a kid - like when you watched Zorro in the past.
The narrative have cute characters, each chapter have a simple story with funny dialog. Very good to pass the time.
The game itself plays like a simpler Sifu, where you fight several enemies using equipements found in the levels. The difference in En Garde! is the possibility of doing acrobacies!
Regarding the difficulty, the game has options to choose from - so can be optimazed for your desired experience.
The campaing itself have 4 chapters that can be completed in 3-4 hours but there is a Challenge Random Arena with several challenges if you get really hooked on the gameplay.
Ciekawa i z humorem poprowadzona rozgrywka. Przeciwnicy są wymagający, zwłaszcza gdy pojawiają się "stadami". Warto korzystać z elementów otoczenia, gdyż potrafią znacznie ułatwić walkę. Grafika jest bajkowa, co dobrze współgra z humorem prowadzonej narracji. Ogólnie to ciekawa odskocznia od "poważniejszych" gier ala Prince of Persia.
