Fun Dungeon Keeper like game
A fun Dungeon Keeper like game. The normal difficulty is a bit too easy. However, there is "hellish" hard mode that feels right. I'd recommend any new player to directly go to "hellish". I like humor of the narration. :)

Where did the time go?!
This is a game that gets you so involved that you find yourself having let hours fly by because your immersed in the experience. I've really only played campaign mode, which had a humor while parodied or referenced several pop culture tidbits leaning on the nerdy side. And the campaign made sure to keep you on your toes. It was very enjoyable. I think the parts I didn't like were that, as is the case with games like this, the pop culture references were either too much or certain story elements were left flat and I think the excuse would have been, "because it's supposed to be funny". Well, it just ended up feeling weird here and there. I also think the cut scenes were poorly done. Very Newgrounds-Flash-Animations-Quality which...I may have missed why they made it how they did but in the end it got the job done. I think they really wanted you focusing on gameplay and not super amazing cutscenes. The voice acting was really good too! I'd certainly suggest this game if you did like Dungeon Keeper back in the day.

Never knew that Co-op would be so great
The core game is very fun. In short, if you like managerial builder games with an evil/spooky theme, then you'll like Dungeons 3. However, the surprise for me was the co-op. I play with my wife, and we have an absolute blast. She's more of a combat, League of Legends player, while I'm more of the city-builder type. So early on, we split responsibilities with her taking care of the overworld, hero incursions, and underground exploration, while I focused more on building, recruitment, and research. This made the game a lot faster and less hectic, since now I could focus on base building rather than constantly having to split my attention between the dungeon and the overworld. She does a lot better with the overworld combat than I would because she can micromanage units to keep them alive longer. I tend to just zerg rush because I'm too busy thinking about the dungeon. We regularly smash the mission times because it's just more efficient to have someone focused full-time on the overworld. The combat and mission design is deep enough to keep her interested, while I tweak the dungeon design to make it more efficient as well as plan out the research that we need. I hope that they further develop the co-op feature in future games.

A pleasant surprise!
Bought this on a whim when it was on sale. I run this on LinuxMint 20.2 Cinnamon. The version of Dungeons 3 is 1.7 in game, and by install file version 1.7 build 11.512e183.36232. It's a great real time strategy game built on the Unity game engine. It's good fun, the graphics are well done, and their is lot's of different ways to choose to build up your army. What also surprised me is that the game is really performant in terms of load times on a six year old PC, and I have not experienced the micro stutter problem like with other Unity games on Linux. You are given both a long single player campaign, and then skirmish modes. The graphics are influenced by and a parody of World of Warcraft 3. The only few things I can say bad about this, is you can't skip all of the dialog in the campaigns. The supposedly funny dialog gets old pretty quickly. And there is a few minor bugs I experienced. Once I lost sound. A few times there was a graphical error of showing long strands of graphics where I think characters had moved from, and whenever you discover the pen pushers in the dungeon, the dialog says you found spiders. It is also certainly concerning that the multi player is some mystery service and no LAN option. Though I have not used it as I play single player. Lastly, the amount of DLC content is also concerning. I don't want to keep paying for a game.

good game, but not a dk replacement
i grew up with dungeon keeper and replayed it several times during my adult life. this game is fun but if you want to replay enhanced graphics dungeon keeper this is not that game, it doesn't act or feel like it, you're bottle necked into the story and have to act accordingly whereas in DK you have marginal freedom in level design and creation, still 4 stars, if you look at this like a brand new games no ties to dk it can still be fun.
