Diablo + Hellfire

A classic masterpiece. The dark atmosphere, the sound effects, the incredible soundtrack, the gritty graphical style, the unique personalities of NPCs, the BUTCHER, the core gameplay loop--it's all still great. If you allow yourself to be fully absorbed in this game, and ignore the fact that Diablo 2 improved upon it in some (but not all) ways, it'll grab you.

Gra się mocno zestarzała, brak wielu rozwiązań z nowszych gier tego typu. Ale gra się nadal przyjemnie. Szczególnie wrażenie robi muzyka. Z grafiką już dużo gorzej. Do pogrania z sentymentu bardzo fajne, ale moim zdaniem jak ktoś nie zna tej gry to powinien sobie raczej dać spokój i spórbować np. Torchlight 2.

The fans begged for Diablo 1. GOG delivers! The fans begged for the Hellfire expansion. GOG delivers! Absolute madlads! It's just how I remember it. Perfectly clunky :) But GOG didn't stop there. Most would just create a compatibility port with enhancements shoved down your throat, but not GOG. They went out of their way to give us the option between the true-to-the-time vanilla version and the enhanced version with bugfixes, and I love them for it! Some people are complaining that the game upscales to higher resolutions, instead of adding widescreen support and/ letting you see more of the game field (i.e. "higher camera position"), but that would give you an advantage you didn't have in the original, so I'm glad they didn't. You can still use whatever mods you want to make that happen if you so desire. There's not much else to say. If you want Diablo, buy it here! GOG, thank you SO much for listening to us about Hellfire!

First of all, I have played legendary Diablo 2 when I was a kid, but never finished it. So I decided to finish the game and see the story. Then I was thinking, why not experience Diablo 1 first and see the how all began. I bought the game with Hellfire expansion and oh boy, I was not disappointed. Diablo 1 is really a great game. Since I was used to controls from Diablo 2, the game was familiar to me. Gameplay was really good, although I missed some of the QoL changes that were made for Diablo 2, for example: there is not chest in Diablo 1 so I had to put all my gold, potions and spells on the floor near Deckard Cain. Also the hero movement speed outside of the Tristram was really slow. But those are the only minor inconveniences, since overall experience was really good. The gearing and spell system is also interesting since every hero can equip anything and can cast spell but there are some limitations. For example: A Rogue may cast a spells but doesn't have mana pool as high as Sorcerer. A Warrior can equip a bow but can't shoot as fast as Rogue etc. I won't go into details but I'll say one thing: if you've played Diablo in the past or not, definitely grab it when it's on sale and try this old gem.

You can feel this game was made with passion and love. Sadly it's not something you can experience with the current blizzard games.
